Position Summary
The Regional Environmental Manager reports directly to Director and GM, Environmental Services and is responsible for safe and efficient management of multiple teams who provide test, clean, and repair services for tanks and major components at retail and commercial fueling stations, generator sites, and other petroleum storage facilities. This role will oversee the performance for all environmental branches and employees in the region and drive strategic growth for these locations.
Key Responsibilities
People Leadership

Provide direct management of branch managers and indirect management of branch personnel staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs.

Execute the strategy for SPATCO’s environmental teams, ensuring a consistent offering and consistent capabilities across the region.

Build, develop, and retain branch leaders and other environmental leaders; support career paths and skills-development plans for subordinate leaders.

Model SPATCO’s values: customer focus, technical excellence, accountability, and safety.
Safety, Compliance & Quality

Promote a zero-incident safety culture in partnership with the Safety department; ensure field practices meet OSHA, EPA, and all other applicable requirements.

Drive quality and consistency in environmental services and ensure corrective actions are taken when service standards are not met.
Sales and Marketing

Lead the region in the introduction and implementation of new products, new services and other growth activities; Expand environmental services throughout the region.

Develop and maintain strong business relationships with key customer accounts.

Provide subject expertise in support of sales team efforts in remote and direct face-to-face meetings.

Partner with other region leaders for service and installation to enhance the total SPATCO offering.
Performance Management & Financial Oversight

Lead initiatives, regional or companywide, that position SPATCO as the industry leader in environmental services.

Review regional financial performance with team members; Identify opportunities and drive improvement.

Support annual budgeting and capital planning for the environmental division; track regional operating expense and productivity against plan.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or a related field — or equivalent combination of education and progressive experience.

Successful leadership experience managing field service teams.

Demonstrated track record driving measurable performance improvement.

Strong understanding of financial reporting to include revenue, margins, and SG&A.

Ability to travel 40–60% across SPATCO’s operating footprint.

Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications

Environmental compliance testing, inspection or tank cleaning experience.

M&A integration experience — standardizing operations across acquired branches or business units.

Excellent written and verbal communication; able to influence senior leaders, peers, subordinate managers, and field crews with equal credibility.

Customer-first orientation; understands that consistent execution is a sales and retention engine.

Bias for action paired with sound risk judgment, especially around safety and compliance.
Work Environment, Physical Demands & Travel

Hybrid / remote-eligible role with regular travel (40–60%) to SPATCO regional offices, customer sites, and active project locations.

Project-site visits will require navigating active construction environments; ability to wear required PPE and meet site safety requirements.

Occasional lifting (up to 25 lbs.), walking on uneven terrain, climbing ladders, and standing for extended periods during site visits.

Ability to operate a motor vehicle and travel by air on a routine basis.
