Job Title: Regional Lead Jack-Up Engineering – North Sea
Grade: Management / 3M - Grade F

Purpose of the role:
Lead the delivery of Engineering & Software (E&S) services within the Jack-Up engineering discipline across the North Sea region, ensuring consistent, high-quality engineering delivery and supporting the achievement of regional business objectives.
Own and manage regional resource planning and oversee project execution within the discipline, supporting the Regional Engineering Lead in implementing regional engineering strategies, delivery models and organisational priorities.
Drive regional client engagement, business development and proposal activities while acting as the primary discipline contact for key client relationships. Establish and uphold engineering standards, methodologies and best practices to ensure consistent delivery across projects.
Provide leadership and line management for the regional Jack-Up engineering team, supporting recruitment, capability development and employee engagement.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Regional Discipline Leadership
- Contribute to the development and implementation of the regional engineering strategy as a member of the Regional Engineering Management Team.
- Lead the Jack-Up engineering discipline across the North Sea region, ensuring the successful delivery of engineering consultancy services, including cross business stream and multidisciplinary projects.
- Provide leadership to the regional discipline by promoting collaboration across the region, technical excellence and continuous improvement.
- Establish, implement and maintain discipline standards, methodologies and best practices across the region.
- Provide leadership to the discipline subject matter expert(s) ensuring the successful delivery of the role.
- Lead regional resource planning to ensure effective utilisation, delivery capability and alignment with business priorities.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships while promoting Global Maritime engineering capabilities across the region.
- Foster a high-performance culture by reinforcing company values, customer focus, commercial awareness and accountability.
Resource Management
- Provide line management for direct reports within the regional discipline.
- Develop workforce capability through recruitment, succession planning, mentoring, competency development and knowledge sharing.
- Identify training requirements and coordinate appropriate development activities, including mentoring, knowledge sharing and targeted programmes.
- Allocate personnel across projects, studies, tenders and internal initiatives to optimise resource utilisation, including supporting other regional disciplines as and when required.
- Conduct annual performance appraisals and mid-year reviews for direct reports
- Support the continuous improvement of project execution processes, tools and performance measures.
- Work with the Regional Engineering Lead and Business Development team to identify, pursue and secure new business opportunities, including preparing engineering proposals, work scopes, cost estimates and delivery schedules.
- Promote collaboration across regional disciplines to maximise integrated service delivery.
- Represent Global Maritime internally and externally within agreed responsibilities.
Interrelationships
- Direct reporting line to Regional Engineering Lead – North Sea.
- Collaborate closely with Regional Discipline Leads, Project Managers, Business Development and other departments to support the successful delivery of regional objectives.
Specific Skills, Knowledge and Experience required:
- Master's degree in Structural Engineering, Naval Architecture or another relevant engineering discipline, or a Bachelor's degree with equivalent professional experience.
- Chartered Engineer status, or equivalent level of professional qualification and experience.
- Extensive experience in the design, construction and assessment of marine structures, marine operations or related engineering consultancy.
- Demonstrated experience managing engineering projects from opportunity identification through to successful delivery, including complex, multidisciplinary projects.
- Strong understanding of engineering software relevant to the discipline, together with an appreciation of its capabilities and limitations.
- Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage, develop and motivate multidisciplinary teams operating across multiple locations.
- Strong commercial awareness and experience supporting business development, proposal preparation and client relationship management.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Right to live and work in UK, with the ability to travel throughout the North Sea region.
- Experience leading organisational change and driving continuous improvement is desirable.
- Experience working within a regional or multi-site organisation is advantageous.
