Join DHL Supply Chain as Regional Lead of Customs & Trade Compliance Operations and help shape compliant, high-performing customs operations across Europe. In this influential regional role, you will translate strategy into action, guide a strong international community and work with senior stakeholders to make trade compliance a true business enabler.
What will your responsibilities be?
- Shape and implement the regional customs and trade compliance operations strategy in line with business priorities, corporate policies and regulatory requirements.
- Plan, coordinate and monitor customs operations across the region to ensure compliance, operational quality and consistently strong performance.
- Establish and embed standard processes, procedures, KPIs and governance mechanisms that drive transparency and continuous improvement.
- Act as the regional escalation point for operational non-compliance, leading effective resolution in close partnership with Customs Compliance and other regulatory teams.
- Analyze complex operational challenges, identify risks and opportunities, and introduce best practices that improve effectiveness and efficiency.
- Lead and connect the regional customs operations community, providing guidance on customs and bonded warehousing and sharing expertise across operations, sales and global networks.
- Build trusted relationships with senior leaders, customers, customs authorities and other key stakeholders, including support for customer negotiations.
- Guide country and local leaders in a matrix environment, strengthening capability, engagement and performance while anticipating regulatory change.

- A Master’s degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of education and senior-level professional experience.
- More than ten years of customs and trade compliance experience in a complex international organisation, including regional regulatory knowledge.
- Proven ability to lead regional operations, multiple teams and senior stakeholders in a matrix environment.
- A strategic and analytical mindset, combined with excellent influencing, negotiation, facilitation and communication skills.
- Residence in the European Union, willingness to travel as required and a driving license valid in the European Union.
What can you bring as a plus?
- Experience working with customs authorities, customers and senior leaders across several countries.
- A track record in continuous improvement, project delivery and KPI-based performance management.
- Knowledge of customs brokerage, bonded warehousing, classification, valuation, origin, sanctions and export controls.
