Location: APAC – Flexible / Remote, with regional travel
Reporting to: Head of APAC
Coverage: Asia Pacific
About the Role
MineSec is looking for an experienced Regional Pre-Sales Consultant – APAC to support the continued growth of our payment technology business across the Asia-Pacific region.
Reporting to the Head of APAC, you will be the key technical and solution partner for our regional Sales team, working directly with banks, acquirers, PSPs, fintechs, payment processors and technology partners.
This is a customer-facing technical role. You will be responsible for understanding customer requirements, designing the appropriate payment solution, presenting and demonstrating MineSec's capabilities, supporting RFPs and technical evaluations, and helping opportunities progress successfully from initial discussion through to implementation handover.
You will work closely with MineSec's Product, Engineering and Delivery teams, acting as the bridge between our APAC commercial organisation and central technical teams.
The role will primarily cover MineSec's SoftPOS and PaySurfer payment platform solutions, together with SmartPOS, payment acceptance, tokenisation and other value-added payment services.
What You Will Do
Customer Discovery & Solution Design
- Join the Head of APAC and regional Sales team in customer and partner engagements.
- Understand customers' business objectives, existing payment architecture, technical requirements and constraints.
- Translate business requirements into practical end-to-end payment solutions.
- Recommend the appropriate MineSec product, architecture and deployment model.
- Prepare solution architectures, transaction flows and integration diagrams.
- Identify integration dependencies, certification requirements, technical risks and potential product gaps.
- Distinguish between standard product capabilities, configuration requirements and customer-specific development.
Technical Pre-Sales & Customer Engagement
- Lead technical discussions, solution workshops and product demonstrations with customers and partners.
- Present MineSec's technology and solutions to both business and technical audiences.
- Explain proposed architectures, integration approaches, security models and transaction flows.
- Support Proof-of-Concepts (POCs), pilots and customer technical evaluations.
- Work with customers' technical teams to address questions and progress technical approval.
You should be comfortable engaging with stakeholders ranging from business and product teams to solution architects, developers, security teams and senior technology management.
RFP / RFI & Proposal Support
- Lead or contribute to technical responses for RFPs, RFIs and customer questionnaires.
- Review customer technical specifications and identify requirements, gaps and dependencies.
- Prepare technical sections of proposals and Statements of Work.
- Coordinate with Product and Engineering where specialist input or development estimation is required.
- Ensure proposed solutions are technically viable before commitments are made to customers.
Integration & Technical Coordination
- Lead initial API, SDK and system integration discussions.
- Review customer architectures and integration requirements.
- Coordinate technical discussions involving acquirers, processors, gateways, card schemes and other ecosystem partners.
- Help define transaction flows, system interfaces and responsibilities between different parties.
- Ensure customer requirements are sufficiently understood and documented before handover to Engineering and Delivery.
The role is not expected to replace our Engineering or Delivery teams. Your responsibility is to ensure that the right solution is proposed, technically validated and clearly scoped before implementation begins.
Payment Technology Knowledge
We are particularly interested in candidates with experience across the payment ecosystem.
You should have a good understanding of several of the following areas:
- SoftPOS / Tap-to-Phone
- SmartPOS and Android payment terminals
- Card-present payment acceptance
- EMV transaction flows
- Acquiring and payment processing
- Payment gateways and orchestration
- Payment SDK and API integration
- Visa, Mastercard, American Express and/or domestic payment schemes
- PCI MPoC / PCI DSS
- Payment security and device attestation
- EMV L2/L3 and payment certification
- Tokenisation and card-on-file services
- Alternative payment methods
We do not expect one candidate to be an expert in every area. However, you should have sufficient payment-industry knowledge to understand the overall ecosystem, identify technical issues and know when specialist support is required.
Regional Product & Market Feedback
As the technical representative closest to APAC opportunities, you will also play an important role in connecting regional customer requirements with MineSec's product strategy.
You will:
- Capture recurring customer and market requirements.
- Identify product gaps affecting APAC opportunities.
- Provide structured feedback to Product and Engineering.
- Help distinguish between individual customer customisation and requirements with broader market potential.
- Share payment technology and market developments observed across APAC.
Sales Enablement
You will help strengthen the technical capabilities of our APAC commercial organisation by:
- Supporting Sales with solution positioning and technical qualification.
- Developing reusable solution presentations, architecture diagrams and technical materials.
- Sharing product and payment knowledge with regional team members.
- Helping Sales determine when Product or Engineering resources should be involved.
- Reducing unnecessary Engineering involvement during early-stage opportunities.
What We Are Looking For
Essential
- 5+ years of relevant experience in payments, fintech, acquiring, payment processing, payment terminals, payment gateways or related payment technology.
- Previous experience in Pre-Sales, Solution Consulting, Solution Architecture, Payment Consulting, Technical Account Management or a similar customer-facing technical role.
- Good understanding of card payment transaction flows and the roles of merchants, PSPs, acquirers, processors, gateways and card schemes.
- Experience working with APIs, SDKs and system integrations.
- Ability to understand complex technical requirements and translate them into practical customer solutions.
- Strong presentation and customer communication skills.
- Comfortable working with both commercial and highly technical stakeholders.
- Strong written and spoken English.
- Ability to work independently across different APAC markets and time zones.
- Willingness to travel within APAC when required.
Highly Desirable
Hands-on or pre-sales experience with one or more of the following would be a strong advantage:

Experience working with banks, acquirers, PSPs, fintechs or payment technology providers across multiple APAC markets would be particularly valuable.
What Success Looks Like
This is not a traditional sales role with an independent sales quota. However, you will be an important contributor to the success of our APAC business.
Success in this role means:
- Opportunities are technically qualified earlier and more accurately.
- Customers clearly understand the proposed MineSec solution.
- Technical evaluations and POCs progress effectively.
- RFP/RFI responses are accurate, compelling and delivered on time.
- Solutions are properly scoped before Engineering resources are committed.
- Fewer technical surprises arise during implementation.
- Sales, Product and Engineering have a common understanding of customer requirements.
- Handover from Pre-Sales to Delivery is clear and efficient.
- Regional customer requirements are effectively fed back into MineSec's product roadmap.
The Person We Are Looking For
The ideal candidate is someone who can walk into a meeting with a bank, acquirer, PSP or fintech, understand what the customer is trying to achieve, ask the right technical questions, map out the payment flow, identify potential integration or certification issues, and explain clearly how MineSec can fit into the customer's ecosystem.
You should be technical enough to earn the confidence of a customer's technology team, while commercially aware enough to understand why the customer is buying the solution.
If you enjoy solving payment problems, designing solutions and working at the intersection of customers, technology and business, we would like to hear from you.
