Job Description:

Illinois Tool Works Inc. (NYSE: ITW) is a global Fortune 200 diversified manufacturing company that delivers specialized expertise, innovative thinking, and value-added products to meet critical customer needs in a variety of industries. ITW, with approximately 16 billion dollars in global revenues, operates 7 major segments with businesses in 52 countries that employ approximately 45,000 women and men. These talented individuals, many of whom have specialized engineering or scientific expertise, contribute to our global leadership in innovation. We are proud of our broad portfolio of more than 19,000 granted and pending patents.

Join a growing ERP team rolling out SAP S/4HANA in North America for a global automotive supplier. With two implementations live and the third about to begin, our procurement, inventory management, and warehouse execution template is established and continues to evolve with each new division. The third rollout will also introduce SAP EWM for the first time, giving you the chance to lead the warehouse management design and build it into the template. You'll keep each rollout close to the standard, improve the template where the business needs it, and oversee the variations each ITW division genuinely requires, all while maintaining the decentralized culture that drives our business.

You will be part of a highly visible SAP implementation core team, focused on aligning strategic objectives with tactical demands.

This role is remote, with travel required during key project phases and various support needs.

Role Summary:

As the Regional SAP Lead for MM/IM/EWM, you will own end-to-end processes related to procurement, inventory management, and warehouse execution in an automotive supplier environment. You will:

  • Deploy and evolve the Procure-to-Pay, Inventory Management, and Warehouse Execution template across new divisions and sites
  • Support compliance with automotive supply chain requirements such as batch traceability and expendable & returnable packaging management
  • Collaborate with plant leadership (plant managers, materials managers, purchasing, warehouse and shipping/receiving supervisors) to align current plant processes with the S/4HANA template
  • Support change management by translating technical solutions into clear business impacts for Purchasing, Materials, and Warehouse stakeholders.
  • Collaborate closely with manufacturing, quality, finance, and sales workstreams to ensure end-to-end process consistency

Key Responsibilities:

Solution Design & Delivery

  • Act as a long-term owner of the SAP MM/IM/EWM process template, ensuring its evolution through future rollouts and enhancements.
  • Lead fit-to-template workshops with each new division, confirming where the standard applies and identifying true gaps
  • Recommend the right warehouse solution for each site (Stock Room Management, Basic EWM, or Advanced EWM) based on operational complexity and licensing cost
  • Design warehouse structures and processes in EWM, including inbound receiving, putaway, picking, production supply staging, outbound shipping, and RF/mobile execution
  • Engage with key users to shape procurement, inventory, and warehouse processes in SAP that balance common foundations with local agility
  • Strengthen the template’s automotive procurement processes, including scheduling agreements and forecast delivery schedules, subcontracting/outside processing, supplier consignment, and inter-plant/intercompany stock transfers
  • Own template governance: evaluate division-specific requirements, approve only justified variations, and document them so the core template stays intact
  • Identify and prioritize template improvements using lessons learned from completed rollouts, maintaining a fit-to-standard, clean-core approach

Data & Testing

  • Coordinate with divisional teams to prepare and validate data
  • Guide user acceptance testing and assist in test script creation
  • Plan and execute MM/IM/EWM cutover, including inventory cutover, go-live physical inventory, and migration of open purchase orders and scheduling agreements
  • Ensure MM/IM/EWM processes in SAP support compliance, auditability, inventory accuracy, and strong master data governance.

Training

  • Train key users based on configured processes
  • Provide post-go-live functional support

Leadership & Ownership

  • Act as functional lead for the third rollout and those that follow
  • Direct and collaborate with the external consultants during rollouts and continuous improvement initiatives, where necessary
  • Communicate status, risks, and progress clearly to project leadership
  • Mentor key users and local support teams to build lasting in-house SAP capability

Support

  • Second-level support for MM/IM/EWM related support requests

Key Skills & Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of hands-on SAP MM/WM experience, including at least 1–2 full SAP S/4HANA implementations within the automotive supplier industry
  • Deep expertise in MM, IM, and EWM (embedded EWM in S/4HANA preferred) within automotive supply chain and logistics contexts
  • Strong understanding of automotive supplier operations
  • Experience with purchasing, inventory movements and valuation, physical inventory/cycle counting, warehouse structure design, handling units, and RF/mobile execution
  • Track record in SAP transformation projects including fit-to-standard/blueprint, configuration, data migration, testing, cutover, user training, and go-live

Travel Requirement: Up to 50%, based on project and support needs

Compensation Information:

$120,000-$130,000 base plus bonus
