ActalentservicesJob Title: Outpatient Clinical Dietitian Job Description This role provides essential outpatient nutritional care for pediatric patients, using medical and biochemical data to assess needs and develop individualized nutrition care plans. You will primarily support a leading pediatric hospital’s outpatient units, working in close collaboration with dietetic technicians and clinical teams in a mostly remote capacity. Responsibilities Provide basic nutritional care to patients on assigned outpatient units, with a focus on pediatric populations. Evaluate medical, biochemical, and nutritional information to accurately assess each patient’s nutritional needs. Develop, document, and implement appropriate, individualized nutrition care plans based on clinical assessments and best practices. Monitor and adjust nutrition care plans as patient conditions and treatment goals evolve. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to integrate nutrition care into overall treatment plans. Educate patients and families on nutrition-related topics, including diet modifications and long-term nutrition strategies. Assist in supervising the daily work of the dietetic technician, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality patient care. Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with department and regulatory standards. Participate in outpatient visits, both remote and in person, to provide consistent follow-up and continuity of care. Float between designated outpatient locations as needed to support patient care and clinic operations. Essential Skills Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition & Dietetics. Current Massachusetts Dietitian license (MA Licensed Dietitian). 1–3 years of experience in acute care, preferably with direct patient-facing responsibilities. Demonstrated pediatric clinical nutrition experience. Strong ability to interpret medical, biochemical, and nutritional data to inform care plans. Proficiency in developing and implementing individualized nutrition care plans. Ability to supervise and support dietetic technicians in daily clinical activities. Excellent communication skills for educating patients, families, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams. Organizational skills to manage outpatient caseloads and documentation efficiently. Comfort working in a hybrid environment with both remote and in-person patient interactions. Additional Skills & Qualifications Cardiology experience or exposure to cardiac-related nutrition care is a plus. Experience working in pediatric hospital or specialty care settings is highly desirable. Familiarity with outpatient clinic workflows and telehealth or remote patient care. Ability to adapt quickly when floating between different clinic locations. Commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous professional development. Strong interpersonal skills and a patient-centered approach to care. Work Environment This position supports outpatient units within a top-ranked pediatric hospital setting and offers a mostly remote schedule. The standard work hours are Monday through Friday, 8-hour shifts. You will float between outpatient locations in Waltham, Lexington, and Weymouth as needed. In-person patient visits are required on Tuesdays and on the first Wednesday of every month, while the remainder of your schedule is primarily remote. You will work closely with multidisciplinary clinical teams and dietetic technicians in a professional, collaborative environment focused on delivering high-quality pediatric care. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Boston, MA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $55.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
