Position Overview: The Regulatory Affairs Counsel is responsible for managing and supporting CrossCountry Mortgage’s responses to federal and state regulatory examinations, audits, and inquiries. This role is expected to make significant contributions to the compliance program by providing consistent and effective counsel to the organization throughout the examination lifecycle. Job Responsibilities: Manage and coordinate CCM’s responses to regulatory examinations, audits, and information requests from federal and state agencies. Ensure that CCM complies in all material respects with state and federal regulatory requirements through independent research and evaluation. Collaborate with the Chief Compliance Officer on developing effective strategies for examination preparedness and remediation. Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather, review, and organize documentation and data responsive to examination requests. Track and manage examination findings, corrective action plans, and remediation timelines to ensure timely resolution. Develop, review, and amend policies and procedures as changes in regulations, examination feedback, or requirements are identified. Regularly report to the EVP, Attorney, Regulatory Counsel on examination matters requiring attention while providing recommendations. Other legal and compliance responsibilities, as assigned. Qualifications and Skills: 3+ years of mortgage lending experience, with at least 1 year in a regulatory examination or audit-focused role. Experience managing or supporting regulatory examinations conducted by agencies such as state regulators, the CFPB, or prudential regulators. Experience with a loan origination system; Encompass, preferred. Knowledge of consumer mortgage lending laws and regulations, including TILA/Reg Z, RESPA, ECOA, and HMDA, as well as state regulatory requirements. Excellent communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Skilled at navigating dynamic regulatory environments.
