About Dune Strategy
Dune Strategy is a management consulting firm based in Dubai. We advise international investors, family groups and sovereign-linked entities on the commercial decisions that define their position in the region: market entry, regional expansion, transactions, joint ventures. The firm works from a current reading of the market, including how family ownership dynamics, regulatory shifts and sovereign capital priorities actually influence outcomes.
We keep the portfolio small on purpose. Partners stay in the commercial conversations where decisions get shaped, and research reaches the people making the call rather than being filtered on the way up. Clients come to us when a decision needs a real understanding of local counterparties and operating conditions that cannot be managed from a distant head office.
The Regulatory Research Analyst sits at the front end of that work: reading the rules, tracking the path, and writing the note a partner actually uses.
What You Will Do
What We Offer
After a year, you can take a question from a partner and come back with a briefing that stands on its own: the position, the reasoning, the open risks. You spot the commercial call earlier than you did on day one, because you have watched enough decisions move to recognise the shape of one. Counterparties know your name and answer your calls. You are trusted to sit in on a conversation and write the note that comes out of it, and the partners have stopped checking your sources because they no longer need to.

The Regulatory Research Analyst sits at the front end of that work: reading the rules, tracking the path, and writing the note a partner actually uses.
What You Will Do
- Research regulatory frameworks, licensing requirements and policy positions across the region, and keep the picture current as things change.
- Map counterparties: who owns what, who decides, who can block, and where a family or state-linked interest sits in the structure.
- Assemble briefing material for partner-led meetings, short enough to be read in the car and precise enough to rely on.
- Track a regulatory path over weeks or months and flag the moment a decision point moves.
- Write the underlying note: the position, the reasoning, and what is still open.
- Check the numbers and the filings before anything goes to a client.
- Clarity of thought. You can get to the point of a document and say what it changes.
- Writing that holds up under a partner's read and then a client's read.
- A pragmatic streak: you work with the material available rather than waiting for a complete file.
- Comfort with incomplete information, ambiguity and questions that do not have a clean answer yet.
- Discipline with sources. You know where a fact came from and you can show it.
- Enough judgement to know which finding matters to the commercial call and which is background.
- An interest in finance, economics or politics, whether from study, earlier work or self-directed reading.
- Arabic, French or another language used with regional counterparties.
- Exposure to a sector with heavy regulation: financial services, energy, healthcare, real estate or telecoms.
- Prior research work in a consultancy, advisory firm, bank, law firm or public body.
- Practice reading legal or regulatory text and pulling out the operative clause.
What We Offer
- A permanent, full-time role on a hybrid arrangement in Dubai.
- Direct exposure to partners and to the commercial conversations themselves, not a summary of them afterwards.
- Work across several sectors and structures rather than one narrow desk.
- A view of how sovereign capital, family ownership and regulation combine in practice on live decisions.
- Clear standards and a small team where the work you produce is read and used.
