THE OPPORTUNITY

Beneco is looking for a Rehabilitation Consultant to join our Newcastle team on a permanent basis. We are open to both new graduates and experienced practitioners – regardless of level of experience, we are seeking candidates who are committed to quality, and genuinely motivated by helping people recover and return to work.

This is a hands-on case management role. You will manage an active caseload across varied insurance schemes, conducting assessments, developing return-to-work and injury management plans, and maintaining strong relationships with referrers, employers, and treating practitioners.

Key Focus Areas Include

  • Day-to-day management of a physical rehabilitation caseload with a focus on quality, compliance, and outcomes.
  • Conducting workplace, functional, and other relevant physical assessments.
  • Building referral relationships and contributing to business development activity alongside the leadership team.
  • Timely, accurate documentation in line with scheme requirements and Beneco's clinical standards.
  • Participating in peer review and contributing to a culture of continuous improvement.

Location: Newcastle, NSW

Working Arrangements:Hybrid across our office in Newcastle and client sites

Employment Type: Full-time Permanent

Salary: Competitive; commensurate with experience

THE PERSON

We are looking for Rehab Consultants with a focus on physical case management. The right person will bring:

Experience

  • A background in Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, or Exercise Physiology. New graduates are encouraged to apply!
  • An interest in, or experience with, workplace rehabilitation.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and confidence engaging with employers, treating practitioners, and insurers.
  • High standards for documentation quality and a proactive approach to managing a caseload.

Formal Qualifications

  • Occupational Therapy: current AHPRA registration (or eligibility).
  • Physiotherapy: current AHPRA registration (or eligibility).
  • Exercise Physiology: current ESSA accreditation, or eligibility.
  • Current driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle.

THE TEAM & THE LEADERSHIP

You will join a team of four physical rehabilitation consultants in Newcastle, working across occupational therapy, physiotherapy, and exercise physiology disciplines. The team is close-knit, high-performing, and genuinely supportive, and you will also have close working relationships with Beneco's broader national network of consultants across multiple disciplines and states.

Your leader brings an Exercise Physiology background and extensive experience leading multidisciplinary allied health teams across clinical, management, and rehabilitation settings. Their career spans direct clinical practice, facility management, and business development; giving them a well-rounded perspective on what good rehabilitation practice looks like at every level. They lead with a collaborative, team-first approach and are genuinely invested in the growth of the people around them.
