Job Summary:
The Reimbursement Analyst is responsible for analyzing reimbursement and net revenue activity to ensure accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and effective reimbursement management. This role prepares reserve calculations, settlement estimates, account reconciliations, and reimbursement analyses while participating in budgeting, forecasting, and audit activities. The analyst is the primary contact to work with third parties on identifying government related reimbursement opportunities and preparing the annual filing requirements on state and federal reports (Medicare/Medicaid cost reports).This is a hybrid position. Remote work is approved but will need to be on site for meetings and work as needed.
1. Prepare and maintain monthly net revenue reserve models, including bad debt reserves and other revenue adjustments, in accordance with organizational policies and procedures.
2. Analyze net revenue variances and reserve fluctuations, identify key drivers, and assist in recommending updates to assumptions, methodologies, and forecasting processes.
3. Prepare third-party settlement estimates and perform reconciliations of reimbursement-related balance sheet accounts to support accurate financial reporting.
4. Assist with the preparation of budgeted net revenue projections by providing analytical support, reimbursement data, and trend analysis.
5. Support the development and maintenance of reimbursement policies, procedures, and standardized processes to ensure consistency and regulatory compliance.
6. Review operational and financial reports, identify discrepancies or process improvement opportunities, and provide recommendations to enhance reporting accuracy and efficiency.
7. Assist with Medicare, Medicaid, and other governmental payer cost report audits by gathering supporting documentation, researching reimbursement issues, and responding to auditor requests.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 1 Year accounting/finance experience. 2 Years experience as a financial analyst/accountant/reimbursement analyst in a healthcare organizations preferred
EDUCATION REQUIRED: Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or economics/mathematics.
