We have an opportunity at our corporate offices in Chicago for a Relationship Management Director I on our Insurance team. This is a remote role on our team.
This role is responsible for developing AMAI’s expansion of group insurance sales within the Teaching Hospital Program initiative. This role serves as a strategic liaison for AMAI within the large employer group marketplace. This role is responsible for developing, refining, and presenting AMAI’s value proposition to executive-level stakeholders within institutional client organizations. The position collaborates closely with AMA and AMAI personnel, insurance carrier partners, employee benefit brokers, and institutional clients to identify needs, align solutions, and advance AMAI’s strategic objectives.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Institutional Group Relationships & Sales — 50%
· Prospect institutional client organizations, conduct needs analyses, and present AMAI’s value proposition to executive level stakeholders.
· Serve as the primary liaison among insurance carrier partners, distribution partners, employee benefit brokers, and institutional clients to identify client needs and develop appropriate product solutions.
· Collaborate with carrier and distribution partners to secure, prepare, and present proposals to institutional clients, direct clients, and relevant third parties.
· Drive the distribution and sale of AMAI insurance products to institutional clients by generating revenue through offerings such as group long-term disability, short-term disability, term life insurance, accidental death and dismemberment, unique product features, and other related insurance products and services.
· Collaborate with insurance carriers to generate quotes, pricing, benefits, etc. for AMAI insurance products
· Represent AMAI at industry conferences, client meetings, and related events to promote AMAI’s value proposition and expand strategic relationships.
Channel Development — 30%
· Identify, develop, and maintain distribution channels that effectively support the sale of AMAI’s value offering.
· Develop differentiated value propositions for each channel that address the priorities of distribution partners and the institutional clients they serve.
· Create and support promotional materials designed to communicate the benefits of AMAI solutions to distribution partners and their clients.
· Cultivate productive working relationships with employee benefit brokers and other strategic channel partners.
· Educate, train, and support channel partners to strengthen their ability to position, promote, and sell AMAI offerings.
Program Development — 20%
· Develop, document, and continuously refine processes for promoting, quoting, selling, and implementing coverage associated with AMAI’s value offerings.
· Collaborate with carrier and channel partners to streamline implementation processes and improve the experience for all stakeholders.
· Develop and maintain sales enablement materials, including talking points, frequently asked questions, objection-handling responses, competitive positioning resources, and other tools that communicate AMAI’s advantages.
· Manage day-to-day sales activity to support revenue and customer satisfaction goals, including maintaining accurate client contact information and sales-cycle progress in Salesforce.
· Contribute to sales and marketing strategy, pricing decisions, and competitive analysis by sharing market intelligence, customer insights, and trend information gathered through business activity.

REQUIREMENTS:
1. Bachelor’s degree required.
2. Minimum of 10+ years of business-to-business sales, business development, or marketing experience,
3. Knowledge of the medical, insurance, or employee benefits marketplace required.
4. Must be licensed and appointed in accordance with applicable insurance laws and regulations in the state(s) of operation, as defined by the agency.
5. 3+ years experience in people management preferred.
6. Demonstrated strategic selling skills, including strong presentation, persuasion, negotiation, and executive-influence capabilities.
7. Proven ability to navigate complex institutional environments, identify client needs, negotiate effectively, and close large institutional sales opportunities.
8. Demonstrated track record of achieving sales targets and revenue objectives.
9. Strong written communication skills, including the ability to create, compose, and edit letters, proposals, contract documents, and sales materials.
10. Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to build relationships with clients, partners, and internal stakeholders.
11. Ability to maintain accurate forecasting, reporting, and customer relationship management records.
12. Proficiency with Salesforce software.
13. Travel required.

This role is an exempt position, and the salary range for this position is $139,414 - $188,312. This is the lowest to highest salary we believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee’s pay within the salary range will be determined by a variety of factors including but not limited to business consideration and geographical location, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
