Release Manager

Role Description The Release Manager role is a full-time remote position responsible for overseeing the end-to-end software release lifecycle, from planning and coordination through deployment and post-release review. On a day-to-day basis, the Release Manager will schedule and manage releases, align timelines with product and engineering teams, and ensure that configuration and change management processes are followed. The role includes monitoring release readiness, managing risks and dependencies, and communicating release status to stakeholders. The Release Manager will collaborate closely with software development, operations, and program management teams to ensure stable, timely, and high-quality releases, while continuously improving release procedures and tools.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong Release Management and Configuration Management skills to coordinate deployments and maintain reliable environments.
• Candidates should possess Program Management and Analytical Skills to plan initiatives, manage dependencies, and interpret data to inform decisions.
• Candidates should possess Software Development experience or familiarity to understand technical impacts, build processes, and collaborate effectively with engineering teams.
• Candidates should possess excellent communication and stakeholder management skills to provide clear updates, manage expectations, and resolve issues collaboratively.
• Candidates should possess experience with modern CI/CD pipelines, version control systems, and issue-tracking tools (e.g., Git, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, Jira) as beneficial qualifications.
• Candidates should possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a remote, fast-paced environment; prior experience in a release or delivery management role is preferred.
