Reliability Engineer - Naval

Job Title: Reliability Engineer - Naval Job Description As a Reliability Specialist, you will provide crucial support for naval systems in an in-service support capacity. Your primary responsibility will include managing the configuration of the Reliability software utilized in the program. Responsibilities Provide comprehensive in-service support for fleets of vessels used by the Canadian Royal Navy and Canadian Coast Guard, with a focus on reliability, availability, and maintainability. Configure, maintain, and optimize Reliability software to support failure reporting, analysis, and corrective action processes. Analyze reliability data and failure reports to identify trends, root causes, and opportunities for system improvement. Collaborate with engineering, service delivery, and quality teams to implement corrective and preventive actions based on insights. Develop and maintain documentation, including procedures, reports, and reliability metrics. Support equipment health monitoring and reliability assessments throughout the asset lifecycle. Train and support end-users on applicable Reliability software usage and best practices. Participate in reliability reviews and contribute to continuous improvement programs. Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, company policies, and customer requirements regarding reliability and in-service support. Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance for both hardware/software systems and Reliability software configuration issues. Essential Skills Reliability engineering Preventive maintenance Failure reporting Corrective action Failure analysis Marine/defence Experience 5+ years' experience in reliability, availability, maintainability, corrective maintenance, and preventive maintenance Project Management Additional Skills & Qualifications Bachelor of Engineering Degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic, Naval Architecture, or other relevant field of study 5 years experience in a marine or related environment Previous experience working on a defence contract and/or program Work Environment This is a hybrid position with a requirement of 3 days per week in the office and 2 days remote. The role predominantly involves office work but will also require working in dockyards and onboard Naval ships. Candidates should be open to locations in Victoria, BC, Halifax, NS, or Ottawa, ON. The position involves 40 hours per week with flexible hours, maintaining core hours between 10am-3pm. The job may require inspections in machinery spaces of Naval ships, which involve climbing and bending. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Victoria, BC. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $62.50/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
