Role Description The Remote Academic Counsellor is a full-time role responsible for supporting students and families in planning and achieving academic goals within the FunFox Program. Day-to-day tasks include conducting virtual academic advising sessions, guiding students on course selection and study strategies, and providing structured feedback on their progress. The counsellor will collaborate with teachers to identify learning needs, recommend tailored support, and ensure alignment with the FunFox Way. The role also involves communicating regularly with parents, addressing concerns, and sharing actionable recommendations to enhance student outcomes. The Remote Academic Counsellor will maintain accurate documentation, use online tools to track student performance, and contribute to ongoing improvements in FunFox’s academic support services.
Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong skills in Student Counseling and Academic Advising, with the ability to guide young learners through academic planning and goal setting.
• Candidates should possess excellent Communication skills, including clear written and verbal communication suitable for students and parents.
• Candidates should possess Career Counseling and Education-related skills that support conversations about long-term academic pathways and future opportunities.
• Candidates should possess the ability to work effectively in a remote environment, using digital tools for video calls, documentation, and progress tracking.
• Relevant qualifications such as a degree or certification in Education, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field are beneficial.
• Experience working with primary school students, familiarity with Australian education standards, and a student-centered advising approach are advantageous.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple student cases simultaneously are preferred.
