We're hiring a Business Broker / M&A Associate to sit in the middle of business sales — owners who want out, buyers who want in — and turn confidential conversations into real, tracked deals. Summary Flexible Title: Can tailor to reflect your skills & experience. Flexible Time: Can do full-time, part-time, side-gig (off-hours), or fractional (contract). Flexible Commitment: Can do short-term, long-term, or intermittent. No license required. Brokers, sell-side advisors, buy-side searchers, and relationship-driven dealmakers welcome — a license or IB background is a plus, not a requirement. Why so flexible? We're a FUNDED startup racing to launch end of Q3 2026. That gives us just 3 months to stack features while raising additional working capital. Feel free to jump in, help us ship, then bounce >> or stick around. A successful launch translates into lots of permanent jobs for those that want them. We're also interested in long-term "side gig" relationships, if that's what you're into—in our experience, a few expert hours often beat full-time learning-curve hours. About Us We're a credible, funded, remote-first startup backed by a growing team. We're pre-launch and moving fast — building the kind of relationship-driven deal network that connects people who have something with people who want it. About The Role The best business sales never hit BizBuySell as a blind listing. They start as a conversation: an owner who's ready, a buyer with a thesis, and someone in the middle who can keep it confidential and keep it moving. That's the person we're hiring. This is the business / M&A counterpart to our real-estate off-market seat — same skill (two-sided, relationship-first), different deal. You'll source and work owners who want to sell, stay close to buyers who are actively looking (searchers, independent sponsors, operators, small PE), and make the introductions that turn into deals. This is ideal for someone who already talks to business owners and buyers — brokers, M&A associates, search-fund operators who also source, or anyone who has sat in the middle of a main-street or lower-middle-market sale. You'll answer: Who's actually for sale (even if it's not listed)? Who's a real buyer vs. a window shopper? What does each side need to take a next step? Compensation Up to $160,000+ OTE (base plus uncapped commission) for full-time performers; cash, commission, and equity components to be negotiated. Given the flexible commitment model, comp will be structured accordingly — fractional, hourly, or performance-only arrangements welcome for the right relationships and deal flow. What You'll Do in Your First 7 Days You've reviewed how we source, qualify, and track business-sale opportunities today You've gotten access to our CRM and mapped where owner and buyer relationships live You've made your first round of outreach and follow-up to warm owners, buyers, and intermediaries You've attended your first team standup and understand how a confidential conversation becomes a tracked deal The team knows who you are, why you're here, and how you'll work together What You'll Do Ongoing Work the sell side — find and build trust with owners who may want to sell, even if they're not listed yet Work the buy side — stay close to qualified buyers, searchers, and operators who actually close Sit in the middle — keep deals confidential, represent both sides' real needs, and move conversations forward Qualify hard — real sellers vs. tire-kickers; real buyers vs. "send me everything" Run phone-first follow-up — consistent, discreet, and persistent; this is how business deals happen Keep the book clean — log owners, buyers, conversations, and status so nothing and no one falls through the cracks What We're Looking For Must-haves: Experience as a business broker, M&A associate/analyst, sell-side advisor, or anyone who has sat in the middle of buying/selling operating businesses Relationship-driven and discreet — owners talk when they trust you; buyers close when you don't waste their time Comfortable in the middle of a deal — you can keep both sides moving without oversharing Phone-comfortable — you'd rather call than email, and you're good at it Organized and self-directed — you keep your own book and follow-up tight without daily check-ins Nice-to-have: An existing book: listings, owner relationships, or a buyer pool you already work Search-fund, independent-sponsor, or lower-middle-market buy-side experience (you know what a real buyer looks like) Familiarity with CRM / deal-tracking tools (and the discipline to actually use one) Comfortable in fast-moving, ambiguous environments What You're NOT Not a real-estate-only seat — this is operating businesses, not property Not a BizBuySell poster — listings can be a tool; the job is confidential relationships and getting deals done Not a solo brokerage — you'll work with a team and systems, not build a brand-new shop from zero alone By clicking APPLY, you consent to receive email and SMS communication from ListLab.
