We are sharing a specialised consulting opportunity for experienced U.S. compliance attorneys with strong expertise in regulatory analysis, legal document review, compliance law, legal writing, and complex issue evaluation to contribute to advanced AI training and legal-quality assessment initiatives.
Selected attorneys will review compliance-related legal materials, develop scenario-based legal analyses, evaluate AI-generated outputs, and provide detailed expert feedback grounded in current U.S. compliance standards. No prior AI experience is required; substantive compliance-law expertise is the primary qualification.
Key Responsibilities
Compliance Document Analysis
- Review and analyse legal documents and compliance materials
- Annotate documents with substantive regulatory and legal commentary
- Identify inconsistencies, ambiguities, and compliance concerns
- Evaluate materials against applicable U.S. compliance standards
- Apply professional legal judgement to complex regulatory scenarios
Regulatory Research & Legal Reasoning
- Analyse nuanced compliance and regulatory questions
- Apply current U.S. law to hypothetical and practical scenarios
- Research relevant regulatory principles where required
- Identify legal risks and potential compliance pitfalls
- Develop clear, well-reasoned explanations supporting conclusions
AI Legal Output Evaluation
- Review AI-generated compliance and legal responses
- Assess outputs for legal accuracy and logical consistency
- Identify incorrect interpretations or incomplete analysis
- Evaluate alignment with professional compliance standards
- Provide targeted feedback to improve model precision and reliability
Scenario & Evaluation Development
- Develop realistic compliance-law questions and scenarios
- Create structured answers reflecting current legal challenges
- Draft rationales explaining complex compliance conclusions
- Identify ambiguous scenarios requiring refinement
- Support development of high-quality legal evaluation datasets
Collaboration & Quality Improvement
- Collaborate remotely with project leads and technical specialists
- Communicate nuanced compliance concepts clearly
- Contribute feedback on evaluation and review processes
- Suggest improvements to legal-quality protocols
- Maintain consistent standards across repeated evaluation workflows
Ideal Profile
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school
- Active attorney licence in good standing
- 3–10+ years of recent substantive compliance-law experience in the United States
- Currently practising in compliance law
- Strong knowledge of U.S. regulatory and compliance frameworks
- Experience reviewing complex legal and regulatory documentation
- Strong regulatory research capabilities
- Excellent legal-writing skills
- Ability to explain complex compliance concepts clearly and concisely
- Strong critical-thinking and analytical abilities
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Experience identifying legal ambiguity and regulatory risk
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable collaborating with technical and non-legal stakeholders
- Judicial clerkship experience is advantageous
- Experience teaching law or legal writing is valuable
- Legal journal or law review editorial experience is highly valued
- No prior AI-training or model-evaluation experience is required
Engagement Details
- Independent contractor engagement
- Remote — United States only
- Compensation: $100–$180/hour
- Current substantive experience practising compliance law in the United States is strongly preferred
- Work will involve legal-document review, regulatory analysis, scenario development, AI-output evaluation, and written feedback
- Assignments may include compliance questions, legal rationales, regulatory scenarios, and evaluation datasets
- Strong knowledge of current U.S. compliance standards is central to the engagement
- Contributors will collaborate remotely with legal, project, and technical stakeholders
- Clear written reasoning and precise legal communication are essential
- Project scope and regulatory scenarios may evolve depending on evaluation needs
- Work must be completed without using confidential, privileged, client-specific, work-product-protected, regulatory-restricted, or otherwise non-public information belonging to any employer, client, law firm, financial institution, organisation, or other third party
