Job Title: Electrical EngineerJob Description

This role focuses on leading electrical design for large data centers, overseeing complex projects from concept through completion. You will manage project delivery, ensure high-quality design output, and coordinate with multiple disciplines to deliver secure, reliable, and efficient electrical systems that meet stringent standards and codes.

Responsibilities
  • Lead electrical design for large data centers, ensuring systems are safe, reliable, and compliant with applicable codes and standards.
  • Serve as the lead designer on projects, taking ownership of technical direction, design quality, and overall project outcomes.
  • Manage electrical design projects, including planning, tracking progress, and coordinating deliverables across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Perform QA/QC reviews of electrical design work to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to project requirements.
  • Supervise and manage design staff, providing technical guidance, mentoring, and oversight of project tasks and workflows.
  • Integrate and coordinate work across different disciplines (such as mechanical, structural, and architectural) to ensure cohesive and compatible designs.
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, and Requests for Information (RFIs), maintaining clear documentation and communication with stakeholders.
  • Apply NEC codes and strong electrical systems knowledge to develop compliant and efficient data center designs.
  • Work on highly secure data center projects, including air-gapped cloud environments, ensuring alignment with Tempest and ICD-705 requirements.
  • Collaborate with project teams and clients to clarify requirements, resolve design issues, and support successful project delivery.
  • Travel to project sites as needed to perform site assessments, support design coordination, and participate in project meetings.
  • Participate in ongoing improvement of design standards, processes, and tools to enhance quality and efficiency.
Essential Skills
  • At least 7 years of experience in electrical engineering with a focus on electrical design.
  • Extensive experience in electrical design for large data centers.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems and National Electrical Code (NEC) requirements.
  • Proficiency with Revit for electrical and MEP design workflows.
  • Experience with MEP design coordination in multidisciplinary projects.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD for electrical design and documentation.
  • Hands-on experience working on secure data center projects, including air-gapped cloud environments.
  • Direct experience with Tempest requirements and standards.
  • Direct experience with ICD-705 requirements and standards.
  • Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in electrical engineering.
  • Demonstrated project management experience, including budget and schedule management and RFI coordination.
  • Ability to lead and coordinate design teams and integrate work across multiple disciplines.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience working on large-scale technology or cloud infrastructure projects.
  • Background in QA/QC processes for engineering design deliverables.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Ability to travel to project sites when required to support design and coordination activities.
  • Comfort with remote collaboration tools and workflows.
Work Environment

This position operates in a primarily remote work environment, with the flexibility to work from your preferred location. You will collaborate with project teams using digital tools and may travel to project sites as needed for meetings, site assessments, and coordination activities. Work focuses on large, secure data centers, including air-gapped cloud programs, and involves advanced design tools such as Revit, MEP platforms, and AutoCAD. The role emphasizes professional communication, structured project management practices, and close coordination with multidisciplinary engineering and design teams.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Arlington, VA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $150000.00 - $200000.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
