Remote | Excel Specialist — $20–$60/hour

We are sharing a specialised consulting opportunity for experienced Excel and business-document professionals with strong expertise in Microsoft Excel, Office Open XML, business analysis, document review, scenario design, and cross-application workflows involving PowerPoint and Word to contribute to an advanced AI training and document-evaluation project.

Selected professionals will design realistic business scenarios, create and review complex Office documents, interact with advanced language models in structured multi-turn workflows, compare AI-generated deliverables, and provide detailed feedback on quality, accuracy, and business relevance. The work is particularly suited to professionals with experience using Excel in high-impact business environments across finance, consulting, technology, healthcare, retail, strategy, operations, sales, marketing, or HR. No prior experience in AI is required.

Key Responsibilities

Advanced Excel Workflows

• Design and review complex Excel-based business tasks
• Build and evaluate models, analyses, reports, and structured workbooks
• Assess formula logic, layout, usability, and business relevance
• Identify errors, inconsistencies, or weak analytical structure
• Apply professional standards to spreadsheet-based deliverables

Business Scenario Design

• Create realistic business scenarios based on professional experience
• Design tasks that require meaningful analytical reasoning and document work
• Develop use cases spanning strategy, operations, sales, marketing, finance, HR, and related functions
• Define clear objectives, constraints, and expected outputs
• Ensure scenarios reflect authentic professional workflows

Office Open XML Evaluation

• Work with Office Open XML document formats
• Review and assess .xlsx, .docx, and .pptx files
• Evaluate document structure, content quality, and formatting
• Identify issues affecting usability, accuracy, or presentation quality
• Support model improvement across multiple Microsoft Office document types

LLM Interaction & Prompting

• Engage in structured multi-turn conversations with advanced language models
• Create detailed prompts involving complex business-document tasks
• Refine instructions to improve AI-generated outputs
• Assess how prompt structure affects deliverable quality
• Provide iterative feedback across multiple model responses

Deliverable Comparison & Selection

• Review two AI-generated solutions for each assigned task
• Compare outputs side by side against professional standards
• Evaluate differences in accuracy, completeness, clarity, and usefulness
• Select the stronger deliverable based on defined quality criteria
• Document preference decisions with clear supporting rationale

Business Analysis & Reporting

• Review analytical outputs across multiple business functions
• Evaluate whether conclusions are supported by underlying data
• Assess models and reports for logical consistency
• Identify missing assumptions, unsupported recommendations, or analytical gaps
• Translate findings into clear and actionable business conclusions

Document Review & Quality Assurance

• Review spreadsheets and related Office documents for quality and accuracy
• Assess formatting, structure, consistency, and professional presentation
• Identify subtle differences between competing document outputs
• Apply strong attention to detail across evaluation tasks
• Support consistent quality standards across project deliverables

Feedback & Model Improvement

• Provide detailed written feedback on AI-generated documents
• Document observations on model strengths and weaknesses
• Produce side-by-side preference data for training workflows
• Recommend improvements to model behaviour and document handling
• Support refinement of AI capabilities for real-world business-document creation

Ideal Profile

• Minimum 3+ years of professional experience using Excel, PowerPoint, and Word in complex business environments
• Experience within Fortune 500 companies or similarly rigorous professional settings is highly valuable
• Strong Microsoft Excel expertise
• Demonstrated experience creating complex models, reports, analyses, and business documents
• Familiarity with Microsoft PowerPoint and Word
• Strong business-analysis skills
• Experience in finance, healthcare, technology, consulting, retail, or comparable industries
• Background in private equity, investment banking, consulting, FP&A, HR, marketing, strategy, operations, or similar business functions is highly relevant
• Ability to design realistic professional scenarios and workflows
• Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to articulate nuanced differences between competing document outputs
• Familiarity with Office Open XML is advantageous
• Experience interacting with LLMs or writing long-form prompts for AI tools is a strong plus
• No prior AI-training or model-evaluation experience is required
