This role is available on a 6 months Fixed Term Contract. Key responsibilities and competencies required for the role include but are not limited to as outlined below, the Remote Inspection Engineer will be required to fulfil other duties as required to meet the needs of GDi, and any other company within GDi’s portfolio: Ensure that the workspace used to carry out remote visual inspection is a suitable environment, away from distractions and the relevant procedure for working with display screen equipment is being followed. Review the work pack provided by GDi and/or the client to understand the scopes and raise any questions or issues to enough detail to progress the scope. Review the point cloud data and STLs files provided & ensure that they meet the scope of work within the work pack. Communicate to GDi if there are any issues that could prevent/ delay the timely delivery of the scope. Ensure all relevant administrative tasks are completed on time. This specifically includes time sheets/time writing, daily reports, and inspection reports. Liaise with the client’s appointed representative to ensure that the work scope is clearly understood and is being carried out to the client’s satisfaction. Keep the client representative informed of progress or delays, forthcoming activities and any other relevant information. Carry out remote visual inspections using desktop applications to identify defects as per the GDi/client criteria. Form recommendations and conclusions, and report findings to Client Complete activities in an independent and impartial manner at all times and if any concerns then report these to Technical Manager and QHSE Manager Health Safety & Environment Responsibilities Participate in all relevant company safety procedures and pre-job planning, including toolbox talks and risk assessments. Report any hazardous defects in plant, equipment and workplace, or shortcomings in the existing controls, to a responsible person without delay Work in a safe manner and ensure any task has been risk assessed prior to commencing work Report any incident, near miss or positive performance in accordance with company or client procedure Co-operate with any safety audits being conducted. Ensure company equipment is appropriately managed and maintained on site Comply with relevant codes of conduct Ensure that all work complies with the Company and Contract Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and procedures as appropriate Report any incidents/near misses, hazards, unsafe acts/conditions, or positive behaviour to a responsible person immediately, and participate in incident investigations where required Actively participate in HSE meetings, toolbox talks, risk assessments, HSE audits, and other relevant meetings where required Perform work responsibly, taking account of environmental and social requirements REQUIRED Formal further or higher education qualification in an engineering or technical discipline, e.g. HNC/HND/BSc API 510/570/579, ASME I/II code certification UKAS RG2 Cat 3 DESIRED Knowledge of HDR/Point Cloud Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics Vocational qualifications in Inspection, Engineering or Technical disciplines Five years relevant experience (preferred) in the inspection, of offshore plant and equipment (recognised Plant Inspection qualification, Inspection/NDT qualifications, Incorporated Engineer under Institute of NDT etc).
