Our client, a healthcare revenue cycle management company, is seeking an experienced Revenue Cycle Manager with strong Athena and Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) billing experience to manage the revenue cycle for primary care clients. This client-facing role will oversee billing, A/R, denials, reporting, and issue resolution while ensuring processes remain compliant with FQHC, Medicare, Medicaid, and payer-specific billing requirements. The ideal candidate is highly proficient in Athena, understands the unique reimbursement and compliance requirements of FQHCs, and can confidently identify revenue cycle issues, analyze data, and recommend improvements. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys combining hands-on revenue cycle expertise with client partnership, problem-solving, and process improvement in a remote environment.

[REMOTE] Revenue Cycle Manager (Athena + FQHC Billing exp. req.) Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle revenue operations for FQHC and primary care clients
• Utilize Athena to manage workflows, reporting, billing, and A/R performance
• Monitor A/R, denials, collections, and payer trends
• Ensure billing practices comply with FQHC, Medicare, Medicaid, and payer requirements
• Review revenue codes, claims, documentation, and workflows for accuracy and compliance
• Develop and analyze reports to identify revenue opportunities and performance gaps
• Lead client meetings and communicate revenue cycle performance and recommendations
• Train client staff and providers on billing workflows, compliance, and best practices
• Partner with internal teams to resolve billing, credentialing, and reimbursement issues
• Drive client satisfaction through proactive communication and issue resolution

• Associate’s degree or higher required
• 5+ years of revenue cycle management experience required
• Direct FQHC billing experience required
• Strong hands-on Athena/Athenahealth experience required
• Strong knowledge of FQHC billing regulations and compliance requirements required
