We are sharing a specialised consulting opportunity for experienced field service technicians with deep expertise in equipment troubleshooting, electrical schematics, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, PLCs, industrial controls, and complex service environments to contribute to advanced AI training and technical evaluation initiatives.
Selected professionals will analyse equipment faults, interpret technical diagrams and control logic, evaluate service and maintenance scenarios, and document expert diagnostic reasoning grounded in real-world field experience. No prior AI experience is required; practical troubleshooting and service expertise are the primary qualifications.
Key Responsibilities
Electrical, Hydraulic & Pneumatic Analysis
- Review complex electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
- Interpret hydraulic and pneumatic system layouts
- Trace equipment functions and likely fault pathways
- Identify inconsistencies or missing information in technical documentation
- Apply field experience to realistic troubleshooting scenarios
Equipment Fault Diagnosis
- Diagnose equipment faults and performance issues
- Analyse symptoms using manuals, drawings, and service documentation
- Identify likely root causes of operational failures
- Recommend practical corrective actions
- Distinguish primary faults from secondary symptoms
PLC & Industrial Controls Troubleshooting
- Analyse PLC logic and industrial control systems
- Review control sequences and equipment interactions
- Identify logic, sensor, actuator, or communication issues
- Evaluate troubleshooting approaches for control-related failures
- Recommend evidence-based diagnostic and repair strategies
Codes, Maintenance & Service Review
- Apply relevant U.S. safety and operational standards
- Evaluate scenarios involving NFPA 70 and NFPA 79
- Apply ASME A17.1 requirements where relevant
- Consider OSHA requirements in maintenance and service scenarios
- Review practical maintenance, repair, and service approaches
Technical Reporting & Expert Evaluation
- Document troubleshooting methods and findings clearly
- Produce detailed reports explaining diagnostic reasoning
- Describe corrective actions and service recommendations
- Communicate complex technical concepts to varied audiences
- Provide expert commentary grounded in hands-on field experience
Ideal Profile
- 8+ years of hands-on equipment troubleshooting experience
- Background in industrial equipment, HVAC, elevators, hydraulics, heavy vehicles, marine, rail, utilities, telecom, or related service environments
- Advanced ability to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
- Strong understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Deep familiarity with PLCs and industrial controls
- Practical experience identifying equipment faults and root causes
- Strong knowledge of field maintenance and repair procedures
- Familiarity with NFPA 70 and NFPA 79 requirements
- Working knowledge of ASME A17.1 where relevant
- Understanding of OSHA-related safety requirements
- Strong analytical and diagnostic reasoning skills
- Ability to translate technical evidence into practical service decisions
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Experience preparing technical service reports or work instructions is advantageous
- Strong attention to detail across complex troubleshooting workflows
- Ability to work independently in a remote professional environment
- No prior AI-training or model-evaluation experience is required

- Relevant U.S. codes and standards may be incorporated into project scenarios
- Contributors will be expected to explain fault diagnosis and corrective actions clearly
