We are currently expanding our network and are looking for qualified interpreters to support communication between speakers of Somali and English.

🌍 Job Description

As a Telephone Interpreter, you will provide real-time interpreting services over the phone between Somali-speaking individuals and English speakers. Calls may involve both simple and complex topics across various sectors, including:

• Healthcare
• Financial Services
• Government
• Immigration
• Social Services

This is a long-term cooperation opportunity.

🌎 Eligible Locations

We are currently looking for interpreters based in: South Africa

🧠 Required Skills & Qualifications

• Native or fluent proficiency in Somali and English
• Excellent listening, memory retention, and note-taking skills
• Ability to remain neutral, detached, and objective
• Strong ability to follow client instructions accurately

🎓 Education & Experience

• English proficiency at C1/C2 level
• Previous interpreting experience is an advantage but not mandatory

🏡 Work Setup

• Fully remote position (work from home or private office)
• Quiet environment required

🎧 Technical Requirements

• Laptop/PC
• Stable Internet Connection
• Wired headset with boom microphone (wireless headsets or earbuds are not allowed)
• Recommended: unidirectional microphone with noise-cancelling features
• Speaker mode is not permitted

🧾 Invoicing

• Monthly invoicing required
