Remote | Strategic Project Lead, MD/Health — $400,000–$550,000/year
24-MAGWe are sharing a full-time opportunity for an experienced healthcare and medical professional with strong leadership, project execution, data operations, and domain expertise to lead complex initiatives supporting advanced AI organisations and healthcare-focused data workflows.
The role combines medical-domain knowledge with end-to-end project leadership. The successful candidate will translate ambiguous customer needs into clear project specifications, design and improve healthcare-focused data pipelines, coordinate Operations and Health/Medicine subject-matter experts, manage delivery milestones, and maintain direct communication with senior stakeholders. An MD or equivalent medical degree is required.
Key Responsibilities
End-to-End Project Ownership
- Own complex projects from initial framing and scoping through execution and delivery
- Translate strategic objectives into structured project plans
- Define milestones, dependencies, deliverables, and quality expectations
- Maintain accountability for project progress and outcomes
- Resolve blockers quickly and maintain execution momentum
Healthcare & Medical Workflow Design
- Translate customer requirements into actionable specifications for Health and Medicine workflows
- Design project structures suited to clinical, medical, and healthcare-related tasks
- Incorporate domain expertise into project requirements and evaluation criteria
- Identify appropriate quality standards for medical and healthcare deliverables
- Continuously improve workflows for accuracy, usability, and scalability
Data Pipeline & Operations Development
- Design and refine domain-specific data pipelines
- Coordinate human-data operations supporting healthcare and medical projects
- Improve workflow efficiency and operational scalability
- Establish processes for quality review and delivery
- Identify operational bottlenecks and implement practical improvements
Medical Domain Coordination
- Work closely with physicians, healthcare professionals, and medical subject-matter experts
- Align domain contributors with project objectives
- Ensure appropriate medical expertise is incorporated into specifications and quality standards
- Review project deliverables for domain relevance and accuracy
- Facilitate effective collaboration between Operations and Health/Medicine teams
Stakeholder & Client Management
- Own client communication throughout project delivery
- Translate complex or ambiguous requests into clear operational plans
- Maintain concise, direct, and consistent communication
- Set expectations regarding scope, quality, timing, and delivery
- Communicate risks, progress, decisions, and next steps clearly
Team Leadership
- Manage Health/Medicine domain experts and project leads
- Establish clear responsibilities and execution expectations
- Maintain a high-quality and accountable delivery environment
- Provide direction and feedback to project contributors
- Support rapid deployment of expert teams for new initiatives
Delivery Management
- Set delivery milestones and maintain a tight execution cadence
- Track progress against project commitments
- Identify and resolve blockers
- Maintain visibility into delivery risks and priorities
- Drive consistent follow-through across contributors and stakeholders
Internal Reporting & Communication
- Provide daily internal updates on project status
- Communicate progress, blockers, risks, and explicit next steps
- Maintain documentation required for operational continuity
- Ensure ownership and decisions are clearly recorded
- Support alignment across domain, operations, and project teams
AI & Human-Data Operations
- Support projects involving AI training, evaluation, or human-generated data
- Coordinate expert-driven healthcare and medical data workflows
- Apply quality-control principles to human-in-the-loop processes
- Translate customer objectives into scalable operational systems
- Improve workflows supporting complex AI and data initiatives
Ideal Profile
- MD or equivalent medical degree required
- 2+ years of professional experience in medicine, healthcare, clinical practice, medical research, or a related field
- 2+ years of experience leading complex projects, operational workflows, or healthcare-related initiatives
- Strong healthcare and medical-domain knowledge
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects from ambiguity through delivery
- Strong project-management and execution skills
- Experience coordinating cross-functional or expert teams
- Exceptional stakeholder-management capability
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with senior healthcare and medical experts
- Strong attention to detail and operational discipline
- Comfortable making decisions and progressing work in ambiguous environments

- Ability to translate customer requirements into clear project specifications
- Experience with clinical workflows is advantageous
- Familiarity with medical research or healthcare data is valuable

- Familiarity with data pipelines, AI-training workflows, and human-in-the-loop operations is valuable

Engagement Details
- Full-time engagement
- Fully remote
- Compensation: $400,000–$550,000/year
