Remote | UI Engineer — $30–$80/hour

We are sharing a specialised part-time consulting opportunity for experienced UI Engineers with strong expertise in frontend development, interface design, responsive systems, and modern web technologies to contribute to an advanced AI development project.

Selected professionals will apply practical UI engineering expertise to design, evaluate, and improve high-quality user interfaces across modern digital products. The work combines frontend implementation, usability, accessibility, visual consistency, and cross-functional collaboration, with a strong focus on producing clear, reliable, and polished interface solutions. No prior experience in AI is required.

Key Responsibilities

UI Design & Frontend Development

• Design and develop high-quality user interfaces with a strong emphasis on usability, accessibility, and visual clarity
• Translate product and design requirements into elegant, functional frontend solutions
• Implement responsive interfaces that perform consistently across devices, screen sizes, and platforms
• Apply modern frontend development principles to component-based UI architectures
• Maintain high standards for interface quality, consistency, and implementation detail

Frontend Architecture & Performance

• Build reusable and maintainable UI components using modern frontend frameworks
• Apply best practices in frontend architecture, component reusability, and code organisation
• Optimise interface performance, responsiveness, and rendering efficiency
• Identify opportunities to improve maintainability, scalability, and user experience
• Work with modern frontend technologies including React, Vue, Angular, or comparable frameworks

Design Review & User Experience Quality

• Participate in design and implementation reviews and provide constructive feedback
• Evaluate UI solutions for visual consistency, usability, accessibility, and interaction quality
• Identify gaps between design intent and implemented behaviour
• Apply strong attention to detail when reviewing layout, spacing, interactions, and component behaviour
• Champion polished, user-centred execution across interface workflows

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Technical Communication

• Collaborate with product managers, designers, backend engineers, and other technical stakeholders
• Communicate implementation constraints, design trade-offs, and technical decisions clearly
• Document interface architecture, frontend decisions, and reusable development patterns
• Contribute effectively within distributed and asynchronous working environments
• Stay current with evolving UI technologies, frameworks, interaction patterns, and frontend best practices

Ideal Profile

• Proven professional experience in UI engineering, frontend development, or a closely related discipline
• Strong understanding of UI design principles and modern frontend development methodologies
• Extensive experience with frameworks such as React, Vue, Angular, or comparable technologies
• Strong proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and component-based frontend architectures
• Demonstrated ability to build responsive, polished, and production-quality user interfaces
• Strong understanding of usability, accessibility, interaction design, and cross-device behaviour
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality execution
• Ability to work independently and proactively in a fully remote environment
• Experience with UI animation, micro-interactions, or design systems is advantageous
• Background in accessible and inclusive digital-product development is advantageous
• Prior experience working with cross-functional or distributed teams is beneficial
