Requirements include: Co-authoring a daily Axios newsletter full of insights and scoops that matter most to Dallas residents Interest in covering many aspects of life in the city Experimenting with and leveraging AI for reporting and newsletter production Writing conversationally, in Axios' Smart Brevity style Helping to build Axios Local and shaping how our product evolves Worthy of your time: Ideal candidates will operate with a startup mentality and an entrepreneurial spirit, and have the following skills: Experience covering Dallas Excellent sources and the desire to create new ones Ability to break news and create conceptual scoops Omnivorous curiosity about your hometown, no matter how long you've lived there Ideas, ideas, ideas Comfort flexing some voice and personality in your writing Proven experience working in a fast-paced news environment and on deadline The desire to make yourself indispensable to local readers and to Axios Local Starting salary for this role is in the range of $65,000 - $105,000 and is dependent on numerous factors, including but not limited to location, work experience, and skills. This range does not include other compensation benefits. Axios' compensation philosophy takes into account cost of labor differentials across the country. Because this is a remote-optional job posting, this salary range takes into account all possible locations within the United States, but candidates will only be eligible for the salary range for their location.
