This role will be associated with the GUARD project (Ensuring Interoperable and Trustworthy Knowledge Graphs for Defence and National Security AI) funded by The Turing Grand Challenge on Defence and National Security: https://ernestojimenezruiz.github.io/projects/guard/ . You will conduct research in knowledge representation, knowledge graphs, ontologies and neurosymbolic AI within the GUARD project, with a focus on interoperability, ontology alignment, validation and benchmarking. You will develop reproducible open-source validation methods using OWL integrity constraints and Datalog reasoning, create evaluation datasets, disseminate findings through publications and conferences, collaborate with partners including The Alan Turing Institute and Dstl, and support the project's long-term sustainability and impact. You will hold an MSc (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related discipline, with research experience in Knowledge Graphs, Ontologies, Semantic Web technologies, or related AI fields. You will have a track record of research publications, strong software development skills in a mainstream programming language, and the ability to conduct independent research. You will communicate complex technical concepts effectively, collaborate within multidisciplinary teams, produce high-quality publications and reports, and build positive relationships with stakeholders, collaborators, and project partners.
