Girl Guides of Canada is actively seeking a Research and Data Analyst Remote working opportunity About This Opportunity Reporting to the Senior Manager, Research and Insights, in this role, you will play a key role in leading and supporting the measurement, tracking and analysis of GGC’s membership trends, survey results and program data. This role combines strong technical research and analytical skills with strategic judgment, curiosity and the ability to connect insights across data sources. The position translates data into clear, actionable insight stories that support evidence-informed decisions related to membership growth, retention, program evaluation and organizational learning. We are looking for a curious and strategic thinker with a strong ability to connect the dots. In this role you will: Lead and support member cycle surveys, including joiner, satisfaction, exit and program surveys, by designing, building, disseminating, monitoring and analyzing surveys and preparing reporting for different stakeholders. Apply sound research methods to gather, clean, code, analyze and interpret quantitative and qualitative data, with attention to accuracy, consistency, methodological rigour and appropriate use of data. Synthesize patterns, themes and connections across survey results, operational data, market research and external trends to explain what the data may mean for GGC’s strategy, programs and member experience. Monitor external trends relevant to Girl Guides of Canada, including volunteerism, youth activities, gender, social trends and non-profit sector developments, and identify implications for strategic and operational decision making. Contribute to market research, segmentation and member insight projects that inform targeted acquisition, retention, engagement and program improvement decisions. Partner with colleagues across departments to clarify business questions, define information needs and translate research findings into practical insights and recommendations. Prepare clear reports, dashboards, presentations and briefing materials that communicate data findings in an accessible, visually engaging and audience-appropriate way. Tell compelling stories grounded in evidence by connecting data points, explaining the “so what,” and highlighting opportunities, risks and recommended next steps. Use AI-enabled tools thoughtfully and responsibly to support research, analysis, synthesis and communication, while following organizational expectations for privacy, accuracy, transparency and human review. Identify opportunities to improve survey infrastructure, reporting processes, data quality and insight-sharing practices, and recommend practical improvements. Provide guidance to internal teams on research design, data collection and interpretation, including helping colleagues frame questions, understand findings and use insights appropriately. Apply organizational policies and values related to inclusivity, accessibility, privacy and respectful member communication in all research and reporting activities. General Adheres to all relevant policies, procedures, and practices. Liaise with other departments as required. Provide general, ongoing support to members/volunteers, responding to/directing inquiries and consulting with the appropriate groups and individuals to support the mission and vision of GGC. Requirements: Post-secondary education in marketing, business, data analysis, psychology, sociology, research methods or other relevant discipline or equivalent work experience. 3–5 years of experience in research, data analysis, business intelligence, evaluation, market research, survey analysis or a related field, including experience independently managing components of research or insight projects. Experience contributing to market research, audience research, segmentation, evaluation or insight projects that inform organizational decision making is an asset. Experience designing, disseminating, analyzing and reporting on surveys, interviews, focus groups or other research activities. Strong technical research and analytical skills, including the ability to work with quantitative and qualitative data, identify patterns, assess data limitations and summarize findings accurately. Strong strategic thinking skills, with the ability to connect insights across data sources and explain why findings matter for decisions, priorities, risks or future opportunities. Curious, thoughtful and proactive in asking good questions, exploring ambiguity and identifying opportunities for deeper analysis or improved understanding. Ability to create clear, visually engaging presentations, reports and dashboards that communicate data findings to non-technical audiences. Strong storytelling skills, including the ability to move from data points to key messages, implications and recommended next steps. Collaborative working style, with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build productive relationships and act as a trusted thought partner across teams. Responsible and AI-conscious approach to using emerging tools, including attention to privacy, bias, accuracy, transparency, data sensitivity and appropriate human judgment. Excellent organizational skills and demonstrated ability to independently manage multiple tasks, timelines and priorities. Able to identify problems, flag risks or data limitations, propose practical solutions and communicate issues concisely and constructively. Self-driven learners who can work independently, take ownership of assigned work and contribute effectively as part of a team. Assets Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint; experience with Power BI, survey platforms (specifically Alchemer) or AI-enabled productivity tools is an asset Annual Hiring Range: $65,000-$72,000 Application Deadline: October 20, 2026.
