Aurora Energy Research is a global energy analytics firm. Our India research team supports clients across the power and renewables sector with data and analysis. This role supports that work by keeping our transmission infrastructure records up to date, and by collecting and organising power network data for ongoing research projects.

Aurora Energy Research is a global energy analytics firm. Our India research team supports clients across the power and renewables sector with data and analysis. This role supports that work by keeping our transmission infrastructure records up to date, and by collecting and organising power network data for ongoing research projects.
This is a research and data role. You'll be doing both secondary research and primary market validation to track infrastructure developments, checking information against reliable sources, and keeping shared records current. You'll also be collecting and organizing technical network data for specific states as directed. Accuracy matters along with speed — everything you log should be checked and easy to trace back to its source.
Key Responsibilities
1. Infrastructure tracking
- Keep our transmission infrastructure records up to date as our research coverage expands to new states.
- Research infrastructure projects online — status, timelines, route, capacity, developer — and log them accurately.
- Collect market intelligence and on-the-ground information to help validate network developments and infrastructure plans.
- Support the research team with data pulls and quick checks when needed.
2. Network data collection
- Collect and organise power network data (substations, lines, voltage levels, capacity, interconnections) for states assigned to you.
- Keep a clear record of where each piece of data came from and when it was collected.
- Work to the priorities and timelines set by the team lead.
We will provide you with the base sources and formats to use for both workstreams but expect you to take up the initiative and explore other options.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Required attributes:
- A degree in electrical engineering, power systems, energy engineering, transmission planning, or a related quantitative field.
- Strong research skills, — including the ability to independently gather information from public sources, technical documents and industry stakeholders
- High attention to detail and comfort with structured data entry (Excel at minimum).
- Some understanding of India's power sector or grid infrastructure is helpful — we'll train you on the specifics.
