Are you a skilled RF IC designer ready to tackle the technical challenges of next-generation wireless and high-frequency electronic systems? Fondazione Chips-IT seeks a Research Engineer with a strong background in Radio Frequency (RF) and millimeter-wave (mmWave) IC design to lead pioneering development of integrated circuits for advanced communication, radar, and high-speed wireless applications.

Research Engineer – RF Integrated Circuit Design
Are you a skilled RF IC designer ready to tackle the technical challenges of next-generation wireless and high-frequency electronic systems? Fondazione Chips-IT seeks a Research Engineer with a strong background in Radio Frequency (RF) and millimeter-wave (mmWave) IC design to lead pioneering development of integrated circuits for advanced communication, radar, and high-speed wireless applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead R&D activities on RF and mixed-signal integrated circuits for advanced communication, wireless transceivers, and high-frequency systems.
- Architect, design, and validate complex RF blocks (such as LNAs, PAs, VCOs, mixers, and synthesizers) in advanced silicon technologies.
- Guide system-level integration and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on packaging and co-design approaches.
- Supervise Master’s and PhD students working on high-frequency designs.
- Protect intellectual property and publish impactful research in the RF domain.
- Track emerging trends in wireless technologies to shape future research directions.
Requisiti
- Ph.D. or Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or similar, with a clear specialization in RF and analog/mixed-signal IC design.
- Track record of RF/mmWave ICs successfully completed from definition to tape-out and measurement.
- Deep knowledge of RF IC design, layout, and simulation tools (Cadence Virtuoso, Keysight ADS, GoldenGate, Ansys HFSS, etc.).
- Thorough understanding of semiconductor processes, RF device modeling, and advanced packaging techniques.
- Hands-on experience with lab validation, high-frequency test equipment (spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, signal generators).
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with team members.
- Visionary, independent thinker with a drive for technological excellence.
