The Opportunity
Join a multidisciplinary research team as a Research Fellow and help shape healthier, safer and more sustainable ways of moving around our cities. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to applied research exploring road safety, active travel and behaviour change, working alongside communities, local councils, government and health services to develop practical solutions that improve urban environments.
The position will contribute to the co-design and evaluation of active travel interventions, bringing together community perspectives and research evidence to inform policy and practice. Key activities include facilitating stakeholder workshops, conducting interviews and surveys, analysing qualitative and quantitative data and translating findings into research publications, evaluation reports and practical resources. The role will also build collaborative research partnerships and coordinate project activities across multiple initiatives.
We are seeking someone with an honours degree or higher qualification in a relevant discipline and/or be progressing towards a doctorate, or hold a doctoral qualification in a relevant field such as public health, behavioural or social science, urban planning or transport planning. Experience in qualitative research, stakeholder engagement, co-design workshops and survey methods will be highly relevant, alongside strong analytical, organisational and communication skills. An interest in active transport, road safety and healthier urban environments will be valuable.
If you are passionate about research that connects communities, evidence and real-world change, we encourage you to apply.
