Research & Project Associate

Rooted Rupa’s work spans organizational culture, employee experience, wellbeing, inclusion and belonging, sustainability, social impact, and community building. Guided by the principles of intention, inclusion, and impact, the practice moves from insight to action and pays attention to what changes as a result. Through consulting, research, fieldwork, and collaborative projects, Rooted Rupa explores what regeneration looks like in practice within organizations, communities, and wider ecosystems.
Role Description The Research & Project Associate is a project-based remote role supporting research, consulting, and collaborative projects across Rooted Rupa’s areas of focus. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting qualitative and quantitative research, supporting ethnographic and systems-focused inquiries, and helping synthesize findings into clear insights, reports, and presentations. The role involves coordinating project timelines and deliverables, maintaining documentation, and collaborating with team members, clients and partners to ensure smooth project execution. The associate will also contribute to the design of research frameworks, participate in client meetings and workshops, and support the development of strategies related to organization culture, inclusion, wellbeing, and regenerative practices. This position requires working independently in a remote environment while actively contributing to a small, impact-driven team.
Qualifications
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex qualitative and quantitative data.
- Experience in research and development (R&D) and applied research, ideally in social impact, organizational culture, or related fields.
- Effective communication skills, including clear writing, structured presentation of findings, and thoughtful stakeholder engagement.
- Demonstrated project management skills, including planning, coordination, and tracking progress across multiple workstreams.
- Comfort working in remote, collaborative settings, with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Background in social sciences, organizational studies, sustainability, human-centered design, or a related discipline (formal education or equivalent experience).
- Interest in regenerative practices, inclusion and belonging, and systems thinking; prior experience in consulting or research environments is an advantage.
- Experience in systems thinking and design thinking is a bonus (but not a prerequisite).
