About Toxin Biotech Research Network:
We are an independent, student-led research network providing early-career life science researchers with structured, protocol-driven systematic literature review projects aimed at peer-reviewed publication.
Role Overview:
We are seeking an ambitious, publication-focused Lead Researcher to direct an upcoming systematic review research cohort. In this role, you will lead a dedicated team of 5–6 student collaborators from initial protocol design through to final manuscript assembly and journal submission.
This is a voluntary, outcome-based leadership role designed for researchers looking to build verified team-management credentials and secure lead authorship.
Key Responsibilities:
• Project Leadership: Lead a remote team through systematic literature screening, data extraction, and quality assessment using PRISMA 2020 guidelines.
• Operational Sync: Maintain weekly milestone updates and remain in consistent contact with Network Management regarding project timelines and manuscript progress.
• Quality Control: Oversee search query design (PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science) and risk-of-bias evaluations.
• Publication Management: Serve as the primary lead for manuscript drafting, figure assembly, and driving journal submission.
Applicant Qualifications:
• MPhil / MS (completed or in-progress) or advanced BS in Biotechnology, Microbiology, Bioinformatics, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or related life sciences.
• Demonstrated understanding of systematic review methodology (PRISMA 2020 framework).
• Proficiency with literature and reference management tools (Zotero, Rayyan/Covidence).
• Excellent organizational, communication, and team leadership skills.
