Researcher

Postdoctoral researcher or research engineer – 1-year fixed-term contract.

We are seeking a research engineer or postdoctoral researcher for a one-year project at the ITODYS laboratory (Université Paris Cité, Paris, France).

The objective is to study the fundamental mechanisms governing steam condensation in low-pressure chambers used for the sterilization of heat-sensitive medical instruments, as well as the impact on the materials constituting these instruments.

Candidate Profile

Applicants should hold a PhD in Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Physical Chemistry, or a related field.

Alternatively, we will consider holders of an engineering degree or a five-year university degree in the same fields.

The ideal candidate should have experience in one or more of the following areas:

• Experimental fluid mechanics
• Phase-change phenomena (condensation, evaporation)
• Heat and mass transfer
• Interfacial phenomena and wetting
• Instrumentation and experimental design

Experience with optical diagnostics, vacuum systems, or environmental chambers would be an advantage.

This collaboration will provide the successful candidate with the opportunity to work at the interface between fundamental research and industrial innovation.
