Working alongside experienced professionals, you will help support key operational processes that contribute to residential solar incentives, payments, and broader business operations. This is a hands-on internship for students who enjoy working with data, improving processes, solving problems, and learning how renewable energy businesses operate behind the scenes. You will gain exposure to multiple business functions while helping the team scale efficiently and deliver accurate results. WHAT YOU WILL DO Gain cross-functional exposure: Work across billing and collections, document management, UCC and SREC applications, solar system monitoring, reporting and analytics, contract management, marketing, quality assurance, data analysis, finance and accounting, legal and regulatory, customer service, and information technology. Support incentive and payment operations: Assist with day-to-day processes that support residential solar incentives, payments, and related business operations. Create training materials: Develop and update user guides, job aids, and documentation that support team training and knowledge sharing. Review work for accuracy: Audit completed work, identify discrepancies, make corrections when needed, and provide timely status updates to management. Collaborate with partners: Work with internal teams and IGS Engineering, Procurement, and Construction partners to support shared operational goals. Drive continuous improvement: Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, tools, and business processes. Contribute to team success: Help the team meet accuracy, service level, financial, and operational targets. Maintain pricing and financial models: Update and enhance IGS’s residential solar and storage pricing and financial models, including project inputs, model structure, and supporting documentation. Analyze products and markets: Research current and future residential products and markets, including customer savings, developer margins, and other economic factors across solar, battery, and solar plus storage offerings. WHAT YOU WILL GAIN Hands-on experience within a growing residential solar business Exposure to incentive management, payment operations, reporting, and analytics Experience working with data, business processes, and operational workflows Opportunities to strengthen analytical thinking, documentation, and problem-solving skills Experience using business technology platforms and web-based applications Exposure to finance, accounting, customer service, legal, regulatory, and operational functions Experience contributing to work that directly supports business performance WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR Currently pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Economics, or a related field Solar or renewable energy career interest and/or experience is a plus Advanced Excel skills, including business case or financial modeling, VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, nested IF statements, and Boolean logic Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Visio, and SharePoint Strong analytical thinking, technology aptitude, and problem-solving abilities Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and basic document management skills A willingness to learn new systems, tools, technologies, and better ways of doing business The ability to adapt, grow, and thrive in a fast-paced, evolving work environment A positive attitude, self-motivation, and a results-oriented approach At IGS Energy, you will do more than intern, you will make an impact. Salary Range: $31,200.00 - $62,400.00 *This range reflects base pay only. Incentive earnings, like commissions or bonuses, are not included.
