Your Recipe for Impact — What You’ll Do As a Restaurant Technology Product Owner Senior Specialist, you'll lead the strategy, roadmap, and evolution of technology products that power the restaurant experience across Whataburger. You'll partner with Operations, Engineering, Architecture, and business leaders to deliver scalable solutions that improve performance, enhance the customer experience, and support our long-term growth. Day-to-Day Ingredients — Responsibilities As a Restaurant Technology Product Owner Senior Specialist, you will: Lead product strategy, roadmaps, and lifecycle management for restaurant technology platforms Prioritize initiatives that balance business value, scalability, and technical feasibility Partner with Engineering and Architecture on solution design, integrations, APIs, and platform modernization Evaluate technology investments and build-versus-buy opportunities Drive Agile product delivery, release planning, and execution across multiple initiatives Monitor product performance, reliability, adoption, and customer experience metrics Lead pilots, testing, and enterprise rollouts to ensure successful implementation Identify and mitigate technical risks, dependencies, and delivery challenges Collaborate with business leaders, operators, vendors, and technology teams to align priorities Mentor team members and promote product management and Agile best practices The Sauce — Pay & Perks As a Restaurant Technology Product Owner Senior Specialist, you will receive: Competitive Weekly Pay Relocation package provided Bonus Program that scales up to 2.5X payout potential based on company results 5 weeks PTO Flex Weeks Paid Corporate Holidays Paid Parental Leave* 401(k) match $1/$1 up to 4% Competitive Medical, Dental and Vision Benefits* Short-term and Long-term Disability Benefits* Opportunities for Career Development and Growth Whataburger Family Foundation - Scholarship Program (dependents eligible) and Hardship Grant Assistance Discounted Meals for You and a Guest Wireless Service Discounts Computer & Software Discounts Fitness / Gym Discounts Awards and recognition for all you do Retirement Celebration Program What You Bring to the Table — Required Experience As a Restaurant Technology Product Owner Senior Specialist, you must have: Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience 4+ years of experience in product management, technology, or related disciplines Experience managing product roadmaps and technology initiatives from concept through delivery Experience working within Agile delivery environments Strong ability to translate business needs into scalable technology solutions Experience partnering with technical and non-technical stakeholders Knowledge of systems integrations, APIs, and enterprise technology platforms Strong analytical, prioritization, and problem-solving skills Excellent communication, influence, and relationship-building abilities Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Extra Toppings — Desired Experience As a Restaurant Technology Product Owner Senior Specialist, we prefer you to have: Experience supporting restaurant, retail, hospitality, or multi-unit operations Experience with cloud-based technologies and modern platform architectures Experience leading large-scale technology implementations or transformations Experience evaluating and managing third-party technology vendors Experience leveraging AI-enabled tools and product innovation practices Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), Professional Scrum Product Owner (PSPO), or SAFe POPM certification Cloud platform certification such as AWS Cloud Practitioner or equivalent Experience mentoring product owners, analysts, or cross-functional team members Where & How You’ll Work This role is based at the San Antonio Home Office, working on‑site Monday through Thursday with remote flexibility on Fridays. In this role, you’ll have strong collaboration with leadership, across cross-functional teams, and with external partners to align capabilities with restaurant realities. The work environment is fast‑paced and requires sound judgment, strategic thinking, and strong collaboration skills. Full‑time availability is required, with occasional extended hours based on business needs, along with occasional travel to properties, project sites, and external meetings. Candidates must reside within commuting distance of the San Antonio Home Office.
