About the Role
We are looking for a Retail Analytics Category Manager to turn retail performance data into clear, actionable insights that support business growth, retail sell-ins, and investor reporting.
This role will work closely with leadership to analyze data from major retail partners, identify trends and opportunities, and translate complex datasets into compelling presentations and recommendations. The ideal candidate is highly analytical but also knows how to communicate insights clearly to both internal stakeholders and external retail partners.
What You'll Do Ingest, organize, and analyze raw retail data from sources such as SPINS and Nielsen. Monitor performance across major retail accounts, including Target, Walmart, and Ulta. Identify sales trends, category opportunities, distribution gaps, and performance drivers. Build clear, compelling decks for retail sell-ins, business reviews, and investor reporting. Support incremental sell-in pitches with data-backed insights and recommendations. Develop recurring reporting and dashboards to track retail performance. Translate large datasets into concise takeaways that leadership can act on. Partner with leadership to identify opportunities for growth across retail channels. Leverage AI and analytical tools to improve the speed and efficiency of data analysis and reporting.
Must-Have Skills
- What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of experience in retail analytics, category management, consumer analytics, or a related field.
- Strong experience working with SPINS, Nielsen, Circana/IRI, or similar retail data platforms.
- Experience analyzing performance across major retailers.
- Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills and comfort working with large datasets.
- Ability to create polished, executive-ready presentations and decks.
- Strong business acumen and ability to turn data into actionable recommendations.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience using AI tools to accelerate data analysis and reporting is a plus.
Nice-to-Have
- Advanced Excel or Google Sheets, including pivot tables and data cleaning.
- Power BI or Tableau for dashboards and visualization.
- SQL for working with larger datasets.
- PowerPoint or Google Slides for retailer sell-in and investor decks.
- Supplements or wellness category experience.
- Category analysis skills: assortment, product incrementality, and competitive benchmarking.
- Ability to validate AI-generated analysis and turn findings into clear commercial recommendations.
