This role serves as the central hub of expertise, connecting internal account teams, an external media deployment agency, and retailers’ advertising teams. The Retail Media Manager translates business goals into powerful, full-funnel media strategies, oversees strategic planning and budget management for on-site and off-site retail media, and ensures that media plans are flawlessly executed, integrated with shopper marketing and commercial plans, and deliver best-in-class return on ad spend across brands. Responsibilities Develop annual and quarterly retail media strategies for identified retailers in partnership with internal account heads. Ensure all media plans are deeply integrated with the commercial calendar, including Joint Business Plans, new product launches, in-store promotions, and seasonal events. Play a key role in shaping Joint Business Plans to be mutually beneficial for all parties. Manage a multi-million dollar media budget for key accounts, including planning, phasing, and reconciliation to maximize working media dollars. Lead a robust test-and-learn agenda by piloting new ad formats, targeting tactics, and measurement methodologies to keep the organization at the forefront of retail media innovation. Build creative pipelines for retail media and actively conduct A/B testing of hypotheses, insights, and business priorities to drive incremental growth. Conduct weekly, monthly, and quarterly business reviews with the agency to assess performance against KPIs, hold partners accountable for results, and optimize future campaigns. Cultivate and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with key retail partners, acting as the primary strategic point of contact. Leverage retailer relationships to gain access to betas, deeper insights, and strategic support that provide a competitive advantage. Review and provide strategic feedback on all media plans submitted by the agency, ensuring the right mix of tactics such as Sponsored Search, on-site display, DSP, and in-store media to achieve business goals. Collaborate closely with Brand Marketing and Shopper Marketing teams to ensure creative and messaging are consistent from national campaigns through to the digital shelf. Champion an omnichannel mindset by developing strategies that drive both online sales and in-store foot traffic and conversion. Go beyond base-level agency reporting to conduct deep-dive analyses on campaign performance, focusing on metrics such as ROAS, new-to-brand acquisition, incremental lift, and halo effects. Translate complex performance data into clear, concise, and actionable insights for internal stakeholders, including account heads and leadership. Own internal reporting and communication of retail media performance for assigned accounts, ensuring the business clearly understands the value and impact of its investment. Utilize retailer data platforms, such as Walmart Luminate, to uncover shopper insights that inform media targeting and broader commercial strategy. Collaborate daily with Sales, Marketing, and Analytics teams to align media strategies with commercial objectives and performance targets.
