What You'll Do
As the Revenue Cycle Manager, you will oversee daily revenue cycle operations while helping ensure accurate billing, timely collections, accounts receivable management, compliance, and fiscal performance.
You'll work closely with internal departments, fiscal staff, auditors, payers, and leadership teams to identify opportunities for improvement and strengthen financial outcomes across the organization.
Your Responsibilities May Include:
Revenue Cycle Leadership
- Oversee all activities related to revenue cycle operations.
- Monitor and manage day-to-day fiscal services.
- Supervise revenue cycle processes and related staff.
- Ensure timely and accurate collection of services provided.
- Develop and implement initiatives designed to improve revenue cycle performance.
- Promote efficient billing and collections practices.
Billing & Accounts Receivable Management
- Establish and maintain effective billing and collection procedures.
- Ensure accurate and timely submission of claims.
- Minimize claim denials and reimbursement delays.
- Review billing and collection patterns and recommend corrective actions.
- Monitor and reconcile accounts receivable activity.
- Maintain aged receivable reports and collection follow-up activities.
- Research outstanding receivables and coordinate collection efforts.
- Report significant aging concerns to leadership.
Financial Performance & Analysis
- Monitor key performance indicators related to revenue cycle operations.
- Identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Develop performance improvement strategies.
- Track financial outcomes and recommend operational enhancements.
- Support month-end reconciliation activities.
- Review revenue cycle workflows and identify efficiencies.
Compliance & Regulatory Oversight
- Ensure compliance with fiscal regulations imposed by county, state, and federal agencies.
- Support annual audit activities and respond to auditor requests.
- Maintain compliance with governmental reporting requirements.
- Monitor adherence to accounting and financial management standards.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and organizational policies.
Collaboration & Relationship Management
- Collaborate with fiscal staff, operational teams, and leadership.
- Work with cross-functional departments to improve workflows and resolve operational challenges.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with payers and insurance providers.
- Assist with resolving billing, reimbursement, and contract-related concerns.
- Provide financial guidance and support to management teams.
Documentation & Training
- Create and maintain revenue cycle procedures and documentation.
- Develop training resources and operational tools.
- Support ongoing staff development and education.
- Maintain accurate financial records and reporting systems.
- Ensure proper recordkeeping and documentation practices.

Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Knowledge of accounting, budgeting, and fiscal management principles
- Strong financial analysis and reporting skills
- Experience working with billing, collections, and accounts receivable management
- Excellent organizational and documentation skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong computer proficiency and financial systems experience
Preferred
- Five to seven years of experience in a nonprofit organization
- Knowledge of human services financing and budgeting requirements
- Knowledge of tax and federal reporting requirements
- Knowledge of GAAP
- Knowledge of governmental accounting protocols
- Experience with contract preparation and negotiations
- Experience leading revenue cycle or financial operations teams

- Ability to travel occasionally as needed
Schedule & Compensation
