JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Senior Revenue Cycle Specialist acts as a key support resource within the Revenue Cycle department. This role is responsible for facilitating collaboration among the Revenue Cycle Team's cross-functional partners.

In this position, the Senior Revenue Cycle Specialist works closely with Exact Sciences Laboratories Revenue Cycle leadership to direct the prioritization of work efforts within the Revenue Cycle Specialist team. Based on guidance from cross-functional partners, the Senior Revenue Cycle Specialist collaborates with all members of the Exact Sciences Laboratories Revenue Cycle leadership team to ensure alignment and implementation of strategic Revenue Cycle processes.

Essential Duties

Include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Serve as the department's primary vendor support and liaison, including training, onboarding, documentation creation, audit support, and leading or monitoring communication between Exact Sciences and vendor daily operations.
  • Support leadership in the department's Quality Program and evaluate suggested changes before submission for leadership approval.
  • Take ownership of escalated system issues between the Revenue Cycle Team (RCT) and Systems, serving as the primary conduit between RCT and supporting departments.
  • Assist leadership with day-to-day assignments and prioritization of the Specialist team's workload.
  • Responsible for onboarding new team members.
  • Partner with peers across the Revenue Cycle Team to ensure effective communication between teams.
  • Support development of departmental workflows as new tests are implemented through the Exact Sciences pipeline.
  • Assist Specialists as directed by leadership.
  • Lead meetings in the absence of leadership.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office and EMR reporting tools to support team initiatives and leadership requests.
  • Participate in cross-departmental project initiatives as needed.
  • Actively contribute to process improvement initiatives.
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail, organization, and record-keeping skills.
  • Apply excellent analytical skills and a strong understanding of business processes.
  • Remain disciplined, self-motivated, and reliable.
  • Work independently while maintaining focus on assigned tasks.

  • Maintain reliable attendance and work designated schedules, including overtime as needed.
  • Work on a mobile device, tablet, or computer screen and perform typing activities for approximately 90% of a typical workday.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • 4+ years of experience in Billing, Insurance, or Revenue Cycle functions, including interpreting remittances (EOPs), handling rejections, and managing appeals.
  • 4+ years of experience using multiple computer systems, including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, Epic, and OnBase.
  • Proven ability to solve complex problems related to workflow processes.
  • Working knowledge of HIPAA regulations.
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology, medical billing, and insurance terminology.
  • Working knowledge of EDI transactions and insurance payer communications.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with project management.
  • Peer mentoring experience.
  • Experience supporting multiple workstreams concurrently.
  • Experience creating and maintaining process documentation using Microsoft Excel or similar applications.

Position Summary

This senior-level role serves as a key operational resource for the Revenue Cycle department, providing vendor management, quality oversight, systems issue resolution, team onboarding, workflow development, process improvement support, and cross-functional collaboration while assisting leadership in daily operations and strategic initiatives.

The base pay for this position is

$22.45 – $44.85/hour

In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
