Children’s Home Network (CHN) is seeking an experienced Revenue Manager to lead the agency’s revenue and contract-related financial operations, including government contracts, program-service revenue, grants, reimbursements, billing, cash receipts, and accounts receivable. Reporting directly to the Director of Finance, the Revenue Manager will be responsible for collaborating with program staff, contract managers, funders, and other key stakeholders to ensure that all financial components relevant to contract and grant requirements are met. Moreover, this role will have supervisory responsibility over the Accounts Receivable Specialist. The ideal candidate will ensure revenue is billed, collected, reconciled, and reported accurately and on time, in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles, agency policies, and contractual obligations.

Key Responsibilities*

  • Oversee timely invoicing, reimbursements, cash receipts, receivables, collections, and revenue reconciliations.
  • Proactively monitor outstanding receivables and payment status, identify delayed or at-risk payments, ensure timely follow-up and resolution efforts, and elevate concerns to fiscal leadership.
  • Review and interpret diverse contracts and grants for billing terms, allowable costs, budgets, and funder reporting and compliance requirements. Additionally, communicate critical financial implications to program managers and financial leaders.
  • Manage Medicaid and other program billing, including claims review, denials, corrections, resubmissions, appeals, and reconciliations.
  • Participate in periodic financial reviews with program leaders and provide actionable information about budget performance and funding utilization.
  • Maintain a centralized schedule of grants, contracts, reimbursement agreements, reporting requirements, renewal dates, and billing deadlines.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with program leaders, contract managers, and other funders to support timely billing, compliance, reimbursement, and resolution of financial issues.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, revenue analysis, month-end and year-end close activities, audits, and funder monitoring and reporting activities.
  • Maintain effective internal controls, billing procedures, documentation standards, and complete financial records.
  • Identify revenue, cashflow, funding, and compliance risks and communicate actionable insights to leadership.
  • Supervise and develop assigned revenue-cycle staff, perform ad hoc analysis requested by Director of Finance or CFO, and collaborate across agency programs.
  • Provide training and technical guidance to staff on billing documentation, contract requirements, allowable costs, and revenue procedures.
  • Attend funder trainings and requested meetings as key Fiscal representative

*A more detailed description of responsibilities will be provided at the interview

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, nonprofit management, or a related field; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • At least five years of progressively responsible experience in contracts, revenue-cycle management, accounting, grants, billing, reimbursement, or accounts receivable.
  • Experience interpreting funding agreements and financial compliance requirements, familiarity with Medicaid billing, supporting audits or monitoring reviews, and leading finance, billing, or revenue-cycle staff.
  • Self-directed and proactive approach combined with great attention to detail and flexibility in meeting shifting demands and priorities.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, identify financial and revenue risks, and communicate effectively with financial and nonfinancial stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to analyze financial data and develop reports, proficiency in accounting, billing, and other business systems.

Preferred Experience

Experience in nonprofit, child welfare, behavioral health, social services, or government-funded environments is strongly preferred.
