About the Position

The Senior analogue/RF engineer to take RF blocks from schematic through to fully verified, spec-compliant designs as part of a complex transceiver development programme. Working within a tightly constrained environment, you'll own the design and verification of blocks across the Rx/Tx chain; performing full-chain simulations between RF and IF ports, reporting compliance to specification, and validating device register controls for test.

This role spans both RFIC design and verification, and my client is keen to hear from strong candidates who lean toward either discipline as well as those who cover both. Whether your strength is in schematic design and layout oversight, or in full-chain verification and spec-compliance validation.

Responsibilities

• Review block specifications and translate them into compliant designs
• Perform schematic design, simulation, and reporting of compliance to specification
• Oversee a layout engineer through to completion of the layout
• Carry out post-layout parasitic simulation and make the necessary design adjustments
• Liaise with the relevant technical lead to integrate designs into the wider subsystem
• Present designs at block-level reviews
• Complete top-level verification simulations, including full Rx/Tx chain verification between RF and IF ports — reporting compliance to spec and validating device register control settings for test
• Deliver fully verified blocks, working with the macro lead to ensure timely, high-quality delivery of subsystems

Experience

• Essential:4–8 years' experience in analogue/RF integrated circuit design and/or verification
• Proven ability in analogue design of complex sub-cells and small subsystems, or in the verification of same
• Hands-on with industry-standard analogue/RF design and simulation tools (e.g. Cadence Virtuoso, Spectre/SpectreRF)
• Experience taking blocks through simulation and reporting compliance to specification
• Comfortable solving complex problems as a key contributor in a tightly constrained environment
• Strong technical communication — able to present designs and compliance findings at block-level reviews

Ideally:

• Experience across both RFIC design and verification (dual-skilled candidates are of particular interest)
• Schematic design with layout oversight and post-layout/parasitic simulation experience (design-leaning candidates)
• Full Rx/Tx chain verification, spec-compliance reporting and device register/test validation (verification-leaning candidates)
• Familiarity with transceiver front-end architecture and design-for-test considerations

Remuneration Package

Daily rate contract with rates reflecting experience and suitability
