For more than 65 years, Kordia has proudly kept New Zealanders and their businesses safe, connected and ready for the future. Operating across New Zealand, Australia and the Pacific, we deliver mission-critical solutions spanning broadcasting, telecommunications infrastructure, maritime communications, cloud and cyber security. With a talented team of more than 450 experts, we're trusted by many of New Zealand's largest organisations to protect what matters most.
Ko tā mātou mahi - About the role
At Kordia, we're continuing to strengthen how we manage compliance, assurance and resilience across the business. We're looking for a Risk & Compliance Manager to join our Auckland-based Risk & Assurance team and help drive that journey forward.
The foundations are already in place. We have established frameworks, governance arrangements, systems and processes. What we're looking for now is someone who can help bring those to life through strong stakeholder engagement, practical delivery and continuous improvement.
Working closely with business leaders across Kordia, you'll help ensure compliance obligations are understood and managed, policies remain effective, assurance activities are coordinated, and resilience capability continues to mature.
This is an opportunity to make a genuine impact across the organisation while working alongside a high-performing Risk & Assurance team.
Ko tō mahi - Key responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day delivery of Kordia's compliance, policy and resilience programmes
- Build trusted relationships across the business and support stakeholders to achieve positive compliance outcomes
- Maintain and continuously improve compliance, policy and resilience frameworks and processes
- Coordinate compliance monitoring, assurance activities and improvement initiatives
- Support the management of Kordia's compliance obligations register and associated evidence
- Work with business leaders to identify opportunities to strengthen capability, improve practices and simplify processes
- Coordinate policy reviews, attestations and compliance-related training activities
- Support business resilience planning, exercises and organisational preparedness activities
- Provide insights, reporting and recommendations that support informed decision-making and continuous improvement
Nā tōu rourou - What you will bring
- At least five years' experience in compliance, governance, assurance, service delivery, business operations, project coordination, quality, business improvement or a related environment
- Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence outcomes and build trusted relationships
- The ability to think ahead, anticipate challenges and dependencies, and take proactive action to achieve successful outcomes
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to translate complex information into practical, business-focused guidance
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Experience coordinating programmes, reviews, audits, assurance activities or continuous improvement initiatives
- A proactive and solutions-focused approach, with a genuine interest in identifying opportunities to strengthen capability and improve outcomes
- Confidence working with systems, data, reporting tools and structured processes
- The ability to quickly understand new subject matter, interpret complex information and apply it in a practical business environment
Experience within compliance, governance, assurance, public sector, State-Owned Enterprise or regulated environments would be advantageous but is not essential.
We're more interested in capability, curiosity, collaboration and a proven ability to deliver outcomes than a traditional compliance career path.
Nōu te rourou - Why join us?
This is an opportunity to join a team with visibility across the entire organisation.
You'll have the chance to work with senior leaders, influence how compliance and assurance are delivered, and help build capability across the business.
You'll be joining at a point where there is real opportunity to make your mark, with:
- The ability to influence business-wide outcomes and practices
- Exposure to executive-level stakeholders and strategic initiatives
- The opportunity to build capability and maturity across compliance, assurance and resilience
- A collaborative team environment where ideas and continuous improvement are encouraged
- A role that offers variety, ownership and meaningful impact across the organisation
If you're someone who enjoys working with people, simplifying complexity, building capability and driving outcomes, we'd love to hear from you.
