Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a key contributor in developing risk management policies, procedures, tools, and AML/FATCA frameworks, both qualitative and quantitative; assess the current risk environment and recommend risk appetite, limit systems, and Key Risk Indicators (KRIs).
- Conduct risk assessments covering AML, technology, and information security for new products, processes, and features; define data requirements and provide business oversight of AML systems and tools, including KYC/e-KYC, sanctions screening, and automated alert systems.
- Handle AML alerts and suspicious transactions on a daily basis in accordance with defined SLAs, including intake, classification, investigation, evidence collection, and case file preparation before decisions or regulatory reporting.
- Conduct reviews and prepare reports on suspicious transactions, large-value transactions, domestic/international transfers, FATCA status, and other AML/FATCA reports as required by the SBV; manage case queues and operational metrics such as processing time and backlog.
- Participate in on-call and escalation handling for urgent risk incidents, including suspected fraud, unusual transactions, and cyberattacks, outside regular business hours when necessary; coordinate with relevant authorities, including law enforcement and the SBV, in urgent cases involving account/asset freezes or requests for records.
- Develop compliance checklists and conduct periodic or ad hoc operational, technology, and AML compliance reviews; monitor limit utilization and breaches, and track remediation actions through closure.
- Coordinate risk assessments for activities specific to digital asset exchanges, including digital asset custody, reconciliation, settlement, and access management, and support the maintenance of relevant standards and certifications such as ISO/IEC 27001.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Risk Management, Finance & Banking, Business Administration, Economics, Information Technology, or a related field.
- At least 3–5 years of experience in risk management, internal controls, or audit, including hands-on experience implementing and operating AML processes such as KYC/e-KYC, transaction monitoring, sanctions screening, case investigation, and suspicious transaction reporting. Strong preference for candidates from banking, securities, fintech, or other highly regulated environments.
- Ability to develop long-term risk management strategies and frameworks, including risk appetite, limit systems, and Key Risk Indicators (KRIs), while also possessing sufficient hands-on expertise to operate, establish, and review AML/FATCA frameworks and policies.
- Strong practical investigation and case-handling skills, including alert analysis, evidence collection, case file preparation, and decision-making within defined SLAs; ability to translate risk data into appropriate control measures. Knowledge of operational and technology risk is required, with an IT/Data background considered an advantage.
- Willingness to participate in on-call duties and handle escalations outside regular business hours when urgent risk incidents arise; proactive in proposing solutions rather than simply identifying issues, able to work independently under pressure, and accountable for issues through resolution.
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills, including the ability to coordinate with relevant authorities when required, as well as strong internal training and communication capabilities.
Nice to Have
- Hands-on experience implementing AML/FATCA programs within banks, securities firms, or fintech companies, including KYC/e-KYC, transaction monitoring, sanctions screening, and suspicious transaction reporting (STR/SAR).
- Experience using case management, transaction monitoring, or sanctions screening tools such as Actimize, SAS AML, ComplyAdvantage, Chainalysis, Elliptic, or equivalent platforms in day-to-day case handling.
- Practical knowledge of fintech and digital assets, including product models, electronic transactions, and digital asset custody.
- Familiarity with relevant frameworks and standards, including FATF, ISO/IEC 27001, NIST SP 800-53, COBIT, ITIL, PCI DSS, CCSS, or the Three Lines Model.
- Professional certifications in risk management, anti-money laundering, financial analysis, or information security, such as CAMS, FRM, CRISC, or equivalent.
