The Opportunity
We’re looking for a Robotics Software Engineer to join an innovative engineering team in Munich Germany, working on the development and evolution of AGV and AMR technology.
This is a permanent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys working close to both software and robotics, and who wants to play a key role in developing reliable, scalable and high-performance autonomous systems.
You’ll be joining the team as they continue to modernise their robotics software stack, including the move towards ROS2 and openRMF.
What You’ll Be Working On
- Develop and improve software modules and packages for AGV/AMR platforms, focusing on autonomous navigation and control.
- Help drive the transition of the existing robotics software framework to ROS2, supporting a scalable and future-ready architecture.
- Contribute to the migration of the Fleet Management System (FMS) towards openRMF.
- Integrate software across robotic hardware, sensors and communication systems.
- Build and maintain supporting Python-based services and web applications using frameworks such as Flask, Django or FastAPI.
- Work with CI/CD pipelines to support automated testing, continuous integration and reliable software releases.
- Test, troubleshoot and optimise existing software to improve system performance, reliability and efficiency.
- Work closely with other software, hardware and robotics engineers to deliver solutions for real-world autonomous applications.
- Identify opportunities to introduce new technologies and continuously improve the overall platform.
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone with around 2–3 years of software engineering experience, ideally gained within robotics, automation, autonomous systems or a similar technical environment.
You’ll ideally bring:
- Strong C++ development skills.
- Hands-on experience with ROS2.
- An understanding of AGV/AMR systems, autonomous navigation or robotic control.
- Experience working across software and hardware interfaces.
- Good knowledge of Python, with experience using frameworks such as Flask, Django or FastAPI.
- Familiarity with CI/CD and modern software development practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- A collaborative approach and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary engineering team.
- A genuine passion for robotics, automation and emerging technology.
What’s On Offer
- Permanent position based in Germany.
- Hybrid working model.
- The opportunity to work with modern robotics technologies including ROS2, C++, openRMF and autonomous mobile robots.
- The chance to have a genuine impact on the development of next-generation robotic systems.
- A collaborative engineering environment where you can develop your technical skills and take ownership of meaningful projects.
If you’re a Robotics Software Engineer with strong C++ and ROS2 experience and are looking for an opportunity to work on exciting autonomous robotics projects, we’d love to hear from you.
