Robotics Engineer (Remote, Full-Time)

Rex.zone is hiring mid-senior Robotics Engineers to build and deploy real-world robotic systems end-to-end across perception, localization, motion planning, and controls. You will develop production-grade autonomy software with strong simulation-to-reality validation and measurable field reliability improvements.

About The Role

You will design, implement, and validate robotics software and algorithms across the autonomy stack. The work includes building ROS/ROS2 components, integrating sensors (camera, LiDAR, IMU), validating behavior in simulation (e.g., Gazebo) and on hardware, and improving runtime reliability through testing and observability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own robotics features from design to field readiness, including requirements and acceptance criteria
  • Build and maintain ROS/ROS2 nodes, launch files, TF frames, and middleware integrations
  • Implement perception pipelines, sensor fusion, SLAM/localization, and map handling (as applicable)
  • Develop motion planning and control modules; tune controllers and validate stability
  • Create simulation scenarios and regression tests to reduce the sim-to-real gap
  • Improve latency, CPU/GPU usage, fault handling, watchdogs, and recovery behavior
  • Write clear documentation and support cross-team debugging during integration/field trials

Required Qualifications

  • Mid-senior experience delivering robotics or autonomous systems in production or advanced prototypes
  • Strong C++ and Python skills with unit/integration testing practices
  • Practical ROS/ROS2 experience, including message passing and sensor drivers
  • Understanding of SLAM/localization, sensor fusion, and motion planning fundamentals
  • Linux, Git, and CI familiarity; strong debugging with logs/rosbags/profiling

Preferred Qualifications

  • Computer vision (OpenCV) and/or edge inference and real-time constraints
  • Planning frameworks (e.g., OMPL) and trajectory optimization exposure
  • Calibration, time synchronization, navigation stacks, and deployment workflows (Docker)
  • Safety practices, field testing protocols, and failure-mode analysis

Compensation

Hourly base pay range: $30–$50 (USD), depending on skills and experience.

These postings are explicitly marked Remote and are aligned with the Campinas search intent.

How To Apply

Apply via Rex.zone with an up-to-date resume highlighting shipped robotics systems, ROS/ROS2 projects, and measurable outcomes (e.g., latency reductions, uptime, navigation accuracy). Include links to repositories, technical write-ups, or demos when available.
