Rex.zone is hiring a Remote, FULL_TIME Robotics Engineer to design, build, and test production-grade robotic systems for Peru-targeted projects and global product lines. You will develop robot software and controls using ROS/ROS2, perception pipelines with computer vision and sensor fusion, and motion planning for real-world deployment.

What You Will Do

• Design and implement ROS/ROS2 software components for perception, planning, and control
• Develop and tune localization and mapping (SLAM) using LiDAR, cameras, IMU, and wheel odometry
• Build motion planning and navigation behaviors including obstacle avoidance and recovery strategies
• Integrate hardware interfaces, calibrate sensors, and validate performance with repeatable test plans
• Create simulation workflows (e.g., Gazebo/Ignition) and hardware-in-the-loop pipelines
• Diagnose field issues using logs, metrics, and replay tooling; implement reliability fixes
• Collaborate on safety practices, fail-safe behavior, and operational runbooks
  
  

Required Qualifications

• Mid-Senior experience delivering robotics features from prototype to deployment
• Strong C++ and Python skills with Linux development workflows
• Production experience with ROS/ROS2, transforms, and debugging tools
• Understanding of kinematics, control, and state estimation concepts
• Experience with perception stacks using computer vision and sensor fusion
• Comfort with Git, CI/CD, code reviews, and test automation
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with OMPL/MoveIt and/or Nav2
• Performance profiling and real-time/embedded constraints
• Edge deployment experience (e.g., NVIDIA Jetson) and inference optimization
• Exposure to safety standards, reliability engineering, and incident response
  
  

Pay

Competitive hourly rate: $30–$50 per hour (base salary).
