Work includes ROS/ROS2 development, perception pipelines, SLAM/localization tuning, planning integration, controller design, simulation-based regression testing, and on-robot performance profiling.
What You Will Do
- Build and maintain autonomy modules: perception, localization, mapping, planning, and controls
- Integrate sensors (camera, LiDAR, IMU, wheel odometry, GNSS) using robust sensor fusion
- Develop and tune SLAM/localization for changing environments
- Implement safety-aware motion planning, obstacle avoidance, and recovery behaviors
- Create simulation scenarios and automated regression tests to validate edge cases
- Instrument telemetry, logs, and metrics for debugging field issues and improving reliability
- Collaborate across hardware, embedded, QA, and product with clear interfaces and performance budgets
- Mid-Senior experience shipping robotics/autonomy software
- Strong C++ and Python with production-grade engineering practices
- Experience with ROS/ROS2 and message-passing architectures
- Understanding of kinematics, dynamics, control theory, and state estimation
- Hands-on SLAM/localization or sensor fusion (e.g., EKF/UKF, factor graphs)
- Ability to debug complex system interactions using logs, telemetry, and profiling tools
- Real-robot deployment experience and field operations
- Computer vision and calibration workflows
- Simulation stacks (e.g., Gazebo) and scenario generation
- CI/CD and containerization with Docker for reproducible builds
