We are seeking an experienced Systems Testing/QA Specialist – Intermediate to perform comprehensive quality assurance and testing activities for large-scale applications across on-premise systems, web solutions, cloud-based integrations, and mobile platforms. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in functional, integration, regression, system, performance, usability, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT), along with expertise in test automation, defect management, and AI-assisted testing. The successful candidate will collaborate with project teams, business analysts, and developers to design test scenarios, execute test cycles, manage defects, validate business requirements, and support continuous improvement of quality assurance practices across Agile, DevOps, Waterfall, and Hybrid environments.

Must Have

• Post-secondary degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or an IT-related discipline. Certification in Software Quality Engineering or an equivalent credential is considered a strong asset.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience performing testing for large-scale applications, including on-premise systems, web solutions, cloud-based integrations, and hands-on experience with AI-assisted testing, AI-powered QA agents using agentic AI, LLMs, and chatbots.
• Experience executing test cycles, analysing results, and managing the full defect lifecycle using tools such as OpenText ALM, OpenText Octane, JIRA, X-Ray, and similar platforms.
• Experience with specialized AI testing tools such as Alditols, Prompt foo, or similar tools.
• Strong understanding of the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and experience working within Waterfall, Agile (Scrum), and Hybrid environments.

• Previous experience executing testing activities on specialized platforms, including ServiceNow, Salesforce, SAP, AI-based solutions, or equivalent platforms, is considered a strong asset.
  
  

Description

Qualifications

• Post-secondary degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline. Certification in Software Quality Engineering or an equivalent credential is considered a strong asset.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience performing testing for large-scale applications, including on-premise systems, web solutions, cloud-based integrations, and mobile platforms.
• Experience executing various testing activities and coordinating with other team members as required to ensure alignment and timely delivery.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with strong analytical abilities in understanding business processes, information systems, web UI design, and accessibility.
• Hands-on experience with all types of testing, including Functional, Integration, Regression, and User Acceptance Testing, across web-based, mobile, and cloud platforms. Experience with API and AODA testing is considered an asset.
  
  

Technical Capabilities

• Strong experience executing test cycles, analysing results, and managing the full defect lifecycle using tools such as OpenText ALM, OpenText Octane, JIRA, X-Ray, Confluence, and similar tools.
• Experience utilizing automated testing tools such as Micro Focus UFT, TOSCA, Selenium, and similar technologies.
• Strong understanding of the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and experience working within Waterfall, Agile (Scrum), and Hybrid environments.
• Previous experience executing testing activities on specialized platforms, including AI-based solutions, ServiceNow, Salesforce, SAP, or equivalent platforms, is considered a strong asset.
• Demonstrated capability in analysing business requirements and user stories to design test scenarios, develop test cases and scripts, prepare test data, and assess results for quality assurance reporting.
  
  

Deliverables

Key Deliverables

• Design and deliver detailed test cases and test scripts aligned with business requirements and project objectives.
• Execute testing activities and document results for various testing types, including functional, regression, integration, system, performance, usability, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT), across multiple platforms and environments.
• Maintain accurate records of test discrepancies and defects using designated QA tools and provide timely reports and recommendations to stakeholders.
• On an as-needed basis, develop and implement automated testing frameworks and scripts using tools such as Micro Focus/OpenText UFT, Selenium, Cucumber, and Serenity (BDD), and similar tools.
• Collaborate with the project team, business analysts, and developers to create and manage test data and scenarios that support robust validation of business processes.
• Support the implementation of quality assurance processes and contribute to the continuous improvement of testing practices within Agile, DevOps, and traditional environments.
  
  

Additional Terms and Working Conditions

• The Quality Assurance (QA) Specialist will work under a hybrid work model, with 3 days in the office and 2 days at a remote location.
• The office location will be Metro Hall, 15th Floor, 55 John Street, Toronto, Ontario.
• The successful candidate will work seven (7) hours per day, five (5) days per week, based on normal business working hours, as specified in the original notes.
• Anticipated Duration: 6 months.
• Duration of Potential Extension: 6 months.
• Location: Hybrid work model, with 3 days in the office.
