Safeguarding Regulatory Specialist Full Time / 37.50 hours per week / Monday to Friday Remote with some travel to our Nurseries and our offices in Northampton and London Salary From £35k per annum Closing Date for this role: 15th August 2026 All applicants need to attach an up-to-date CV to be considered Purpose of Role: The Safeguarding Regulatory Specialist is responsible for coordinating and administering safeguarding governance processes, ensuring safeguarding concerns, regulatory notifications, complaints and associated actions are managed, tracked and progressed in a timely, accurate and compliant manner. The role acts as a central coordination point for safeguarding activity, including Ready to Respond calls, the Safeguarding Helpline/Advice Line, Significant Incident Forms (SIFs), visit reports, regulatory notifications, complaints and action tracking. Working closely with operational teams, safeguarding colleagues and regulatory bodies across England and Scotland, the role ensures high-quality record keeping, effective oversight, the keeping of robust audit trails and oversight of compliance with statutory and regulatory reporting requirements. The role supports organisational safeguarding assurance through maintaining accurate documentation, monitoring and following up on open actions and regulatory activity, coordinating safeguarding information, and ensuring leaders have visibility of safeguarding risks, actions and compliance obligations. Key Accountabilities: Prepare and submit safeguarding notifications to Ofsted (Scotland Equivalent), ensuring accuracy, completeness and timeliness Ensure consistency and standardisation of regulatory notification and information submissions to the regulator Create accurate and concise SIFs, working collaboratively with Operations, Safeguarding Investigators and any other appropriate colleagues. Coordinate the end-to-end regulatory submission process, tracking deadlines and ensuring all required documentation is completed and submitted. Maintain high-quality case records, documentation and audit trails in line with safeguarding and regulatory requirements. Monitor and track all regulatory activity, maintaining clear logs and providing updates on status, risks and deadlines Coordinate and facilitate Ready to Respond (R2R) meetings, ensuring relevant stakeholders are engaged, safeguarding concerns are appropriately documented, actions are clearly captured, ownership is assigned, and progress is tracked through to completion. Coordinate and administer the Safeguarding Advice Line, ensuring enquiries are accurately logged, triaged, assigned and progressed within agreed timescales. Maintain records of advice provided, monitor response times and themes, and escalate safeguarding concerns, risks or emerging issues to the appropriate safeguarding professionals where required. Provide guidance and support to operational teams on documentation requirements and regulatory processes Essential Experience: Experience working in a compliance, safeguarding, HR or regulated environment requiring high levels of accuracy and documentation Strong understanding of the importance of regulatory processes, governance and audit requirements Experience managing detailed documentation and maintaining accurate records in a structured and consistent way Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines and competing demands Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and accuracy Desirable Experience: Experience working with safeguarding processes, Ofsted notifications or LADO referrals Experience within early years, education, healthcare or another regulated sector Familiarity with case management systems or HR systems (e.g. Workday) Experience supporting audits, inspections or compliance reviews Qualifications: Full and relevant Level 3 qualification (desirable) Personal attributes Highly detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and consistency Organised and methodical, able to manage multiple cases and deadlines Strong sense of responsibility when handling sensitive and confidential information Clear and professional communicator, able to work effectively with multiple stakeholders Proactive in identifying issues and improving processes Calm and reliable under pressure, particularly when managing time-sensitive submissions Collaborative, working closely with investigations and safeguarding teams Demonstrates behaviours aligned with HEART principles, acting with Honesty, Excellence, Accountability and Respect Bright Horizons is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
