Role Description The Safety Compliance Specialist at palliative bs+bl is a part-time, remote role focused on ensuring safe, compliant operations across all relevant activities. The specialist monitors and evaluates safety practices, reviews policies and procedures, and supports the implementation of environment, health, and safety standards. Daily tasks include conducting risk assessments, reviewing incident reports, advising on corrective actions, and preparing clear, concise documentation for leadership and regulatory purposes. The role also involves coordinating virtual safety trainings, providing guidance to team members on best practices, and staying current with applicable regulations and industry standards. The specialist collaborates with cross-functional teams to promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement.

Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in Health & Safety and Occupational Health, with the ability to apply regulations and best practices in a practical, operational context.
- Proficiency in Environment Health and Safety (EHS) frameworks, including risk assessment, compliance monitoring, and safety program implementation.
- Experience delivering Safety Training, including developing clear training materials and facilitating remote sessions for diverse audiences.
- Accident Investigation skills, including root-cause analysis, incident documentation, and recommending effective corrective and preventive actions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy in reporting and recordkeeping.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex safety concepts in accessible language.
- Comfort working independently in a remote setting, managing priorities, and collaborating with virtual teams.
- Relevant certification or coursework in occupational health and safety (e.g., OSHA, NEBOSH, or equivalent) preferred.
- Experience in healthcare, palliative care, or similar regulated environments is an asset.
